  1. Hey guys Ive recently just got my 62 set up again and the faders are a bit stiff. Im sure I remember reading that the recommended lube changed from the 56. Does anybody have any recommendations as to what to use in my 62s faders? Preferably thats available in the UK?
  2. To be honest Id like something from the sp series for my own use haha Hes took to the app pretty well. What he dont know if Im looking for a controller for it. Thinking of getting an older mpd as the latest ones seemed to be plagued with shit pads. Either that or maybe a launchpad mini for his little fingers loool
  3. I ended up getting him beat maker 3 for my iPad mini. Ive not really messed with it but it seems to be working with a couple of tracks. Its actually surprised me how good it is. Should be more than enough for him and if he continues using it Ill grab him some kind of controller to go with it. I looked at a few hardware options but at this stage I think this will be the best bet for him. Hes already been asking to sample some of my drum breaks haha
  4. In the last few months my son has been hogging my ancient iPad with basic free mpc style apps. Hes surprised me with what hes made with just some of the shit sound packs so much so Ive decided to get him a gadget of his own. Hes only turning 8 but Ive been surprised how well hes taken to basic beat making. Hes had a mess around on my mpc2000xl so has a basic understanding of the akai workflow so was thinking of trying to find an mpc500. Ive also seen the teenage engineering portables and have started looking into those too. Ideally Im looking for something with a built in sequencer where I can help him sample/chop and leave him to get busy. Also need to add Im looking for it to be standalone so he can take it to my mums and make stuff there. Battery powered would be a plus but not essential. Any other beat machines I should look into? Basically just looking for something with a easy workflow that he can take with him that he can plug his headphones into.
  5. Thanks man Its really weird I thought I was goin mad for a bit. Plugged in my trusty Behringer uca222 and no problems tho haha Again its just strange it works on YouTube fine just not Facebook it even fucks with my connection ah well at least I have a contingency with the Behringer, just would be nice to be able to use the babyface
  6. Hey guys wondering if anyone can shed some light on this. Ive been trying to stream my dj sets to Facebook live today with my Babyface in class complaint mode. Whilst it works in YouTube or when I just record via my phone, I cant get any sound when I try and live stream via the fb app. The first thing I thought was is it copyright issues so I tried with one of my own tracks and still no sound. Now if I unplug the Babyface an use the iPhones built in mic it works. I also found that when I plug in the Babyface via the camera connector it seems to stop Facebook from live streaming properly with lots of drop outs thats again dont happen with the iPhone alone. Its definately repeatable as Ive seen it happen each time Ive tried today. So far Ive updated iOS to the latest version as well as deleting the fb app and reinstalling it. Has anyone else had any similar experiences? Was hopping to use the Babyface rather than having to buy another interface but right now it dont look like its gonna happen
  7. Xbox one user here - gta 5 I rarely play anything else I love the online aspect. I also have elder scrolls but ain't really got into it yet poss cause none of my mates are as nerdy as me haha I like that new need for speed game it's just let down as it doesn't seem to have mainly online players feels like I'm the only one playing it in the world most of the time haha. I have forza but find them a bit boring to be honest. Much preferred arcade style racers. Also meant to ask what's the crack with destiny is it any good? I don't really know what type of game it is been thinking about gettin it.
  8. Assuming there were no amputees I'm saying b. Ask if there was a gofundme page would he beat up dj vagina.
  9. Echoing what rast said if it proves to much of a ball ache with sound forge I'm pretty sure you can run reaper from a usb stick.
  10. I actually used a keyboard stand with a sheet of 15mm mdf devided into 4 sections on top. It's just the right with for two 1210s and a 62 with a few inches to Spare. Quite a cheap option ok for home but if your playing out the cases are the way to go. Unfortunately for me I bought a Car with a boot that can only fitthe technics in without flights. Fuck sake lol.
  11. It's funny I've just recently agreed to do a night with a friend. Up until recently I ain't really bothered playing out much because of the headaches with getting cohersed into what to play. This night doesn't pay all that well but we can play what we want with pretty good support from the bar owner. Alternatively I could of done my own night in a neighbouring town that pays much better but is the typical chart stuff. I'd rather put my balls in a blender. That's the thing tho this night for me and my mate is to play what we believe to be good music and to supplement our income. I have another friend whose main source of income is djing so he has to do those commercial type club nights. I'd hate to be in that position to be honest. It would suck the life out of me. But by taking the cash you got to supply what they ask for I guess. That why we were happy to work something out with this other bar.
  12. Microsoft have announced plans to allow developers to enable games to be played cross platform! Obviously the developers would have to get behind this but this could be monumental if implemented correctly! I could now destroy my brother at gta haha as I have an Xbox one whilst he has a ps4. Read about it here https://news.xbox.com/2016/03/14/letter-chris-charla-idxbox-updates-gdc/
  13. I imagine that my garage is on the same ring as my living room there back to back via an external wall. I don't have an entrance from the house tho so it would require drilling thru the living room but as I'm renting I was looking for something a little less envasive. I get about 60-70mbps which is more than enough for simple audio streaming. I was more concerned about how it would effect the remainder of the house leaving the adapters plugged in. Thanks for your advice guys skips coming tomorrow so gonna get started after my son gets back from school and have a big clear out haha
  14. Hey guys I'm lookin to extend my internet connection to my garage as I am slowly clearing it out to use as a dance studio for me and my son. I was looking at the power adapters that use your existing electrical sockets. Does anyone know if they have any adverse effects on your connection speeds for the rest of the house ect I can't imagine that it will buy don't really want to sacrifice overall speed just cos I'm too lazy to change CDs ect lol
  15. I have bt infinity as the normal broadband Max's out at a whoppin 0.8mg as I'm quite far from the exchange. Now I get 50-60 average. Over the last two years it's been fine. I did have an issue with the home hub 5 they sent out another one then a few months later I had problems with my apple express thingy. Changed the router to an Asus and I never get dropouts and everything is smooth as. To be fair bt where willing to go through the motions to check my second home hub but after reading the net I decided to just buy a new router. I guess it's really depends on what type of speed you are after and what's available in your area as bt infinity is the only viable option where I live.
