  1. I'm practising a lot less than most and I'm not making any progress to the point where anyone would say I've noticeably improved, but I have made small steps in progress by doing one simple thing... loosening my fader wrist... or maybe even my elbow! it's not like if you made a finger puppet bird peck, or if you were calling an old lady a wanker in the street; it's the other movement. The one you make bracelets or a watch jangle with. it's almost rotating the forearm. This movement allows me to do faster clicks than just my fingers working alone. I have been trying to make my weak hand better with the fader and this is the way I've been making progress. I've also been using bumpy K's to do super fast autobahns...but that's still a work in progress.
  2. Someone should start a turntablist gossip channel on YouTube! It would be hella popular. People love the drama. I'd do it but I don't got the time and I don't know enough about the scene it would get bare subs fam.
  3. My thought would be to look for a cheap 2nd hand replacement. Sometimes they go cheap and you'd have your old one for spare bits. Just an idea although fixing would very well be the cheapest option.
  4. dubba looks 10 years younger with a cap. little hoodlum
  5. I was so impressed that I wanted to tell you to fuck off. It felt complimentary but sounded unkind. Its like bad meaning good. I doubt it will ever take off. It would just start to become really confusing in an argument. Really dope chilmeister
  6. im waiting to start dj'ing at a wedding and one of the guests saw me looking at this through the window behind me. Always check you are not by a windows before looking at the internet boobies.
  7. I was going to suggest that "scratching" was purely code wording for other unsavory activities, but since everyone is being serious, so shall I. I would like to ask if deck height is helpful in anyway for those who experience discomfort in the wrist? I notice that using setups that are too low, causes pain in the tendons above the hand. When my decks are at "cloud height" as they are now (super high) I don't get bad posture or pain from "scratching" at all and never have. Maybe if the problems are there already it may be irrelevant, but I think it's always worth a try. Scratching on low tables would be like giving rick waller a reach-around... so Mo and Rocky tell me.
  8. That's freaky! I've never met anyone (other than my dad and granddad) with the same name, then another 2 turn up (for what) on youtube.
  9. love it all, but especially the phrasing and toning from 34 secs to 1 minute....yes I know thats both of them

  13. I've seen traktor working perfectly on an I-Pad, using an S2 MK2 controller. The software was more than £1.50 though
  14. i know you're right Vek, but to most of us mere mortals, doing a swing flare vs a 3 click flare does feel different #IMO. I used to be an 'open fader cat' and click off alot. Trying to learn the new stuff starting closed fader feels completely different, although as you said, in reality it is just starting at a different point. It all boils down to practice and learning new concepts and stuff in the old brain. Mystery - "This goes along with unifying your fader movement. Try to do all your scratches the same on the fader" this is deffo the advice to follow my man!
  15. looks like autobahn with three clicks. #justconfirmingthesamestuffaseveryoneelse
  16. buy cheap, buy twice... sometimes. I used to buy aftermarket stanton needles for work and they never sounded as good or lasted as long as the originals. anything else is fair game. I'm mad for LED bulbs from china. not the same thing as a stylus. I'll get my coat.
  17. holy moley. so many entries and a lot of good videos! I hope everyone will hang around after the comp and continue to post as this is the NUMERO UNO scratch community
  18. I find pinch orbits to have more of a burst to them. fingered/tapped orbits have a more even roll to them.
  19. frosted plates/butter rugs (IMO) and +1 on the polished platters
