  1. Yeah, I like Traktor better than Serato too, namely the overall sound and and feel when skratching. Serato still sounds like digital cuts. Qbert even preferred Traktor over Serato for the same reasons.
  2. I'm still happy with my Traktor Z2, which you can find used on eBay for about $400. Really prefer scratching with Traktor over Serato, specifically for the overall sound. All in all, it's a good mixer for scratching and DVS capabilities at a reasonable price.
  3. I downright have Trump hands.
  4. That looks sick dude. You have manly hands. I have soft, delicate hands. My "massage therapist" said my hands were soft, like really soft. I replied 'I'm a programmer?!?'
  5. This is a solid interview/discussion with DJ Nu-Mark from last week. Prolly will watch again at some point. The interviews they have on this channel are outstanding, from rappers to producers to DJs and everyone in between.
  6. QFT: "but if you're one of those bell ends that likes to play music in public via a phone, then A) fuck off"
  7. Damn, that's f'n sick. Crazy detailed, too.
  8. Yeah, Distrokid is the move, and it's mad cheap. Might I suggest checking out the Producer Grind on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/@Producergrind I've learned sooooo f'n much about getting ish out there to the masses, capitalizing on it, as well as avoiding the common pitfalls. Some of their best podcasts were in 2019 and 2020, then it went to shit for a bit in 2021, but now it's substantially better. I literally take notes (old school pen and paper) when I watch these interviews. You really learn how people come up in the music production game from a wide array of artists/producers. I've been kinda mapping out a plan to following, taking ideas from this guy, that person, and the other dude, then ditching what I detest (like cold calling fools).
  9. Last gig I attended was Thievery Corporation last June. They alternated between 4 singers, each one coming on stage for their specific track, then returning behind the curtains. The way they took the stage, always in a different outfit/costume, and commanding the crowd with such confidence, was f'ing awesome. The band was incredibly tight, from playing sitar to strings, even while it was raining for a majority of the time. This concert took place at The Mishawaka, which is like a mini Red Rocks, just outside of Fort Collins in the local mountains. The stage backs right up to a river and mountain, which is especially cool when there are light shows and such. Plus, it's a really intimate/small venue, so you get to see some of your favorite artists up close. Usually Thievery Corp plays much larger venues, but this year they went with the small spots. Fuckin' score! Oh, and that's the night I scored Covid. #killingit All in all, awesome show and I would definitely see them again. Below is a shot of the Mish, but for a different show.
  10. Legitimately happy for you, you're gonna love that thing. I hear the sound quality is real nice, too.
  11. Oh, fuck yeah Steve. Nice one. Not a fan of the chorts while on my laptop either.
  12. Pioneer DJM 707. Super slept on mixer. Crossfader is not as on/off as most people want, but it has that buffer zone if you got that flare. And has solid send/return and such. Pioneer makes good chit. I've bought it at least twice.
  13. Start off with some Slayer - that will set the tone for the rest of the evening.
  14. Damn, that sucks. RIP Coolio, yo.
  15. That was dope man. Really feeling that beat along with the guitar loops and progression. Haven't really heard anything like this before. Listening for a second time now...
  16. Out of all the skratch needles on the market now, and the reviews I've watched, VNL seems to be the move. Shoots, we even have our very own DJ Dopez testing out the VNL needles and they look legit:
  17. Good to hear on the Jico's, was wondering how they performed long-term.
  18. To a certain degree, yes. It was very noticeable when I switched them out, especially since you can really fine tune the cut-in time and such. I've modded my faders in the past, but this was the best outcome.
  19. There are plenty of second hand Z2s on eBay, some open box and a couple new ones. Still pretty happy with mine and I've had one for about 7 years now. Mini Innofader worked pretty well, but I eventually switched it to the InnoPro 2.
  20. His set was mostly composed of setting up, which took forever, then he played a whopping 20 minutes on his keyboard.
