  1. I can’t find Jico ones but a youtube review said these ones perform as well as Jicos. Anyone used these or know if they’re trustworthy?
  2. Alright, update time! I went for the Mixars Duo 2 which arrived yesterday, I’ve just ordered some new speakers (KRK RKT5 G4) which arrive on Monday. So now all I need is cartridge/needle advice. Which are the ones to get for scratching now that Shure is no more?
  3. Around the same price range, so £300-500 ish. i’ve just been reading a review of the Numark Scratch, seems like it’ll do the job for me - is the mini InnoFader shorter in length than normal faders?
  4. Hi, about a year ago I asked on here about current good scratch mixers and most people pointed me to the NI Z2 Traktor, my missus has just tried to get me one for my 40th but they’ve been discontinued. So what would be everyone’s recommended alternative? I’m only really interested in scratching and a bit of juggling, used to use an Ecler HAK310. Thanks in advance
  5. Yea I saw these ones, but I didn’t know whether to trust them or not as the Numark mixers were shit back in the day.
  6. Thanks for the advice everyone, Yea I loved the Rane TTM-56, was out of my budget at the time though. Still the best faders I ever used on that thing. I might get some Innofaders for my Hak310 for the timebeing, but I’ll keep an eye on Z2 prices in the meantime. My M447 carts are fine, but the styli are both fucked. Is there a company who does good knockoff styli for these or not?
  7. Hi everyone, old skratch head here (early-late 2000’s, old Slatch Alienz forum days, name was Biva Lau in case anyone was around back then?), not been able to even touch my tables for at least 5 years, and havn’t been consistent on them for about 10 due to not having space for them in my current place, but we’re in the process of moving so I’ll be able to get set up again soon. So I’m looking for advice about what mixer brands are good for scratching these days? Not bothered about effects or plugins, just want to cut over beats, but will likely still want something like Serato at some point. My existing gear: 1210s are on order (first thing bought to replace my always crap Gemini direct drives) Elcer HAK 310 - adore this mixer, but I’m aware that Ecler have gone bust, and it needs new faders. This is definitely the type of mixer I’m interested in though. Shure M447s, again I get the feeling these don’t get made anymore? So any buying advice would be greatly appreciated, like I said, I’m at least 10 years out of touch and I’m only interested in cutting and scratching cheers
  8. Cheers Wax! Good to see some old blokes are still knocking round!!
  9. Thanks for the feedback fellas! Well I've pulled my finger out and given the faders a good clean and lube and they're working perfectly now so that's no longer an issue. Now all I need to do is think about whether I want to stick with the 310 or step into the 2010s properly. I get what you're saying about the added options of the new breed of digital mixers, but I don't know if I want anything like that. I get the feeling that if I was a guitar guy I'd be doing acoustic 99% of the time!! I need to do what Porrtis has done and spend a few hours playing with different setups, so does anyone know a shop anywhere that has these set up to play with in north west England? Also is the Hak 310 compatible with a DVS?
  10. Hi everyone, I'm Biva Lau from Lancashire, England. Obsessed with tablism from 2000-2006ish, life has since got in the way but I'm getting back into it now! I was a poster on Skratch Alienz and Snatchcon back in the day, so if anyone was on those boards, say hello! If people could give me a list of names I need to check out to get me back upto speed with where the art is right now - both music wise and battle wise - that would be a huge help. As far as battles go, which one's matter these days? Is DMC still king? Has the IDA succesfully replaced the ITF? Are there any another big ones? I'll hopefully post a file of wonky, inept scratching in a few months! Cheers!
  11. Hi everyone, so I'm just getting back into tablism after a long break, since about 2006. When I moved into my own place there hasn't been anywhere to set my tables up properly so I've had one table and my mixer being a glorified record player for the last 10 years, unable to do any scratching or anything. That's finally getting sorted but, probably to non-use all the faders on my mixer are fecked, so I'm looking for new ones but can't seem to find them anywhere. I've got a Ecler Hak 310, which I loved back in the day, but the faders for it seem to have been discontinued at most places so does anyone have a link for those? Also, has the Eternal fader been stopped? And should I just stump up for a Innofader? Also, I was reading in a similar thread that the Hak series are still pretty much amongst the standard for scratching and juggling? Is this correct or has there been a quantum leap in mixers that I missed? Should I just be buying a completely new mixer? If so, which is best value? I see Rane still seem to be shit hot and Vestax (RIP) are gone - who else are producing the goods? Finally, someone tell me about DVS. Back when I fell out of touch, Serato and Final Scratch were about but weren't quite ready for full adoption, what's it like now? Which is the best system, are they compatible with any mixer? Would it be reccommended for ease of use, etc.... Cheers guys, I'll hopefully be able to post some inept scratching in a few months!
