Never heard the album but that reviewer seems a bit of a nonce. He just seems to be putting across his opinion rather than any kind of justified review which I spose is fair enough but what's with all the random Capital Letters in the middle of sentences?

Drum & Bass mix here no pre-planned tracklist, editing or multitracked niceness - just a straight up back to back 1 1/2 hour mix done on final scratch with occasional cuts. There's some inappropriate tracks mixed together but also some very decent mixes, such is the nature of picking random tunage.

Did no one download the 600 chopped up samples i put on the other day!? If not, DAMN YOUR IGNORANCE!! As for the scratch routines, if it needs to be wav then don't bother with that one above, i think its 192kbps. Thing is about having them all as seperate tracks is it would defeat the point with final scratch as you'd have to keep trundling back to the comp to switch samples. When I've made routines in the past I just keep it as one track, but like you said Steve try to space out the sentences with drums and other scratch samples. Doing that helps to keep a rhythm to the whole thing which makes it so much better to use than randomly thrown together sentences. In any case peeps, have a listen to that routine above and let me know what you reckon, and if you didn't get all those samples I posted at the start of the thread and the links expired let me know, I'll repost.

That's well good, scratchings laid out luvly. Only thing I'll say against it is I don't like the bass that comes in during the mobb deep samples/chorus kind of thing but hey that's just me being a bitter cunt... Thumbs up all round, x-ecutioner style.

My laptop also had a habit of shutting down without warning whilst striping a large number of tracks on final scratch (100+) A fan seems to have helped it, but it's still worrying.

I've had that error before for no apparent reason. Remember I've got the same comp as you dub, i reckon compaq's are just dodgy.

Nicely done Mista_Ed that's cooooooooool stuff. Sig, have you heard DJ Revolution's album? you probably have, but the scratch tracks on that are nice, I particularly like 'Rhythm Control' on it.

With the amount of old school hip hop that you seem to have steve you'd prob be able to come up with loads. Proper old school stuff is often a lot better as well as there tends to be less going on production-wise than newer stuff so you won't have to fuck around with eq-ing or whatever.

This should start the ball rolling. Over 600 manually edited samples, some common, some not so common. Haven't added to them for ages cuz of uni work but still at least tis something. I've used them before and got a pretty good custom sample routine out of it.

While we're on the topic of underground hip hop, anyone else feeling cunninlynguists? I highly recommend.

hmm 'My Search Assistant' is often associated with trojans/virus you should definately check up on google if you've got any strange .exe files on task manager or any other dodgy folders in program files like 'optimizer'. Lavasoft AD-Aware SE Personal, CCleaner (Link on DV) and Regseeker (also on DV) should help as well.
