  1. A Tribe called Quest - Midnight Marauders Looptroop - Modern day city symphony People under the stairs - Question in the form of an answer The Roots - Things fall apart Snoop Dogg - Doggystyle
  2. and i am finding out that there is a lot of hot air and a lot of energy expended on talking about things that dont really matter. like i seen all this shit about different styles etc. and i been thinking about it for the last few days and i guess it doesnt matter. opinions will always differ and some peoples will always diss.
  3. i learn a lot of shit from the boards, but i have a lot to learn so maybe thats why, if u been around longer u might have a wider knowledge or whatever. i think is asis board is good but this is def one of the more friendly boards, people really rip into each other for no reason on some of the others.
  4. got it off fusionist, but the lab looks a cool site bookmarked it, cheers.
  5. no doubt wasnt trying to say different. thats why i'm here, to learn can anyone post some more q stuff to check out?
  6. nice. yo steve your avatar looks a bit like d-stlyes
  7. Coming back to this comment, are you saying Q isn't a scratch musician? Also, Q's juggles are amazing, IMO. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i understand the term scratch musician to mean someone who uses scratchin as a way to make melodies and beats to create actual songs, not a straight up turntablist/scratch soloist. i think its more than just incorportaing scratches into a track, its creatin a track purely from scratchin. so i'm not sayin q isnt a scratch musician, but a lot of his output is not geared toward that style. when i say his stlye gets boring quickly, i mean, if i were in a club and Q n crew were hosting the entire night, after the first three hours of straight up electro cuttin personally i would not protest at a change of pace. like i saw woody and dopey recently takin it in turns to drop tunes, scratch and juggle and it was psik and u never knew what was comin next, kept you on ur toes....
  8. anyone know where i can get this????
  9. you got it on vinyl u lucky so and so
  10. i'm fairly new to the scene, i think Q bert is cool cos he clearly loves to cut, he has stayed with scratching thruout and his diy dvds are really good for learning to scratch. i know hes making nuff money from em but there is no better explanation fot all the scratches that i have seen. BUT his style IS boring v.quickly. i like juggling and scratch musicians stylee stuff anyway why did isp split? d-styles is doin some dope shit right now, gunkhole is awesome, he was in isp, but now i keep seein ricci rucker sayin q is boring/tired etc on all the boards. what is that about, i know what he's sayin, but to promote his own style surely theres no need to bring down someone elses?
  11. looptroop = dope! modern day city symphony is in my all time top 5 hip hop albums, and dj noize handles tings nicely
