  5. you could use a DJ mixer, but i'd be tempted to stay away, if you have a bit more cash you should really get a big knob.. http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/options.p...CFUse3god5lfYSA DJ mixers are basically shit when it comes to audio quality unless you have an allen and heath or a good urei - it will affect the quality too much otherwise IMO personally i use one of these, dirt cheap.. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...3b22942ff800a5d although i'd rather have a big knob because the behringer is a bit noisy.
  6. Thanks folks, good to know theres still ears for a bit of rappin I am doing a few bits with dented, i'm actually working on something with metropolis but it'll probably drop in 2015 or some shit. theres another track on the sound species myspace with FB's and me on the cut, and i just remixed snuff's "maelstrom" for his next tape. other stuff - i did 2 tracks on kyza's next mixtape on dented, and also theres a track wed did with jehst and kashmere which should be on a guest produced foreign beggars album which is rather grizzle. www.dentedrecords.com check for the primecuts remix of "hit that gash"

    The 90s!

best music to come out of the 90's was techno, and then jungle for me.. if youre in any doubt front on theo parrish!! http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x46l87_th...re-detroi_music hiphop for me is a close 2nd, but really its been in decline since 94 really. people make such a big deal out of the whole thing, its pathetic, no other genre has been debated so ad nauseum, i for one think that it is no longer contemporary music, or particularly valid any more in these times we live in, even the "good stuff" is still a perpetuation of racial and social insecurity, by selling an image of the invulnerable black male as a way to be in "fucked up world". that image is so strongly played on that insecure white males even buy into it as some kind of ironic persona to convey to the world, which really is a means of getting through late teens/early twenties without having to really engage with the world emotionally. there is a large amount of fallout as we head into new territories, some cling onto the past regardless, and there is no problem with that, as long as you are not straining to maintan a persona you worked so hard to cultivate out of insecurity.
  16. even when one deck is a bit tempremental and your tunes all sound like a dot matrix printer? all im saying is its risky, and for me i get bookings where i don't want to turn up at 7pm to hook up mixvibes or serato (usually cos i play bars and small venues) so for me i like to keep it simple. i can see in the world of DJing, i.e. the world of people who dj out and not just at home for fun - that serato never really took off in the way it would seem from the perspective of the scratch guys (who generally run their own small nights for fun - most often the better nights!) it seems to me that these days your vinyl/cd still (pirate radio to mainstream club djs) or you are more of an ableton live guy, who would generally have 100 songs or so of one genre that you specialise/pioneer in and you do clever stuff to theml, at least this is what i've seen whilst playing around europe last summer.
  17. vinyl/cd only, no bullshit hassles with laptops! get drunk with confidence.
  18. i consistently buy 320 mp3s to play out, i burn em to cd as compilations and play em that way.
