  1. it'll be out on kapsize if joker does a decent remix of one of my tunes, fingers crossed
  2. 2tall is almost done basically.. om unit is my new baby, its a painful move in a way but its a necessary awakening. everything i've done up to now has been under par, however authentic sounding, i have never truly been happy with any of it and i have to cut the ties that bind. this is a move in the right direction.. http://www.myspace.com/omunit everyone goes nuts for the joker remix, but that's just a banger i made, most of my new material is like spacey deep house at 100bpm. steamy! haha i dunno, i just stopped taking it all so seriously - i even started cutting again recently just for fun. i am still here just not the same guy you used to know mate, all the bullshit i've been through releasing 3 1/2 albums just led me to a place where i realised so much about the industry side of things. now im fixing up, I have a publishing deal on the table and brighter, more autonomous prospects where i don't have to rely on amateurs. i hope to release the last 2tall album on content as dday knows whats up. then, that's it. after that who knows, i am already doing some songwriting and producing with a friend of mine from france called dajla - http://www.myspace.com/dajla also im learning piano slowly, and buying boogie funk records and old school dance classics. i quit smoking again too - just trying to stay awake so i can keep pushing forward, shedding skins along the way. i plan to put up all my albums on my myspace for free download this weekend, i'll link it here too. anyway enough about me reh reh reh! lol
  3. i am going to dissapear to the countryside next year and make the final 2tall album on my own with no distractions i've decided russ if u want a copy i'll sort you out a digital zip, although i know its been shared out, someone'll probably have it as mp3, i really dont give a fuck if someone wants to just link it in here tbh p.s.
  4. i use cubase for my mixes. you can automate the eq's in version 5, very handy!
  5. michael prophet, straight up. more on the modern conscious dub side.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-mPA60P_vE check for gunman though.. a classic
  6. .. but if you want something that's really a bit deeper on this tip, i really reccomend you check out the new shit kode 9 is making/playing a la.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTUQID0MuU0
  7. basically uk funky already has its own sub genres - you have the good stuff, the bullshit stuff, and the stuff where grime mcs just spit even worse lyrics on.. basically here's an example of a decent tune and yes it has commercial appeal, so soap dodgers beware. also..
  8. yup. as a long time londoner i can say garage is pretty much done for good. funky is the way forward, a lot of it is really quite good too. (of course you have the standard, i'm "urban" so i have to use the shittest reason preset available crew, but nonetheless there is some really quite good)
  9. in case you're wondering where blakey has been this past couple of years.. www.djhero.com
  10. stay well clear of alesis monitors. they were thought to be half decent 10 years ago, but there are much better options at that price range now.
  11. adam a7's or maybe a5's are the best monitors you'll find for the price vs sound. if you're talking sub 500 quid/pair then maybe a KRK or Tannoy.. hope that helps
  12. I bought one of these as a cheap and simple solution of having volume control between my PC and speakers. EDIT! - Do not buy this. this introduced a slightl dullness to the speakers i noticed after some time. thought i'd come rectify this. 1/10 - waste

  16. just listened to this, very nice and well mixed too. props ta, its the "real shit" to me anyway As expected, the mix is nicely crafted, however the tracks aren't really my cup of tea... about 12 months after the real shit was hitting the scene imo.... nice trip down memory lane though... Ohh btw, I have that New Dawn track I think..... will look at post details if I can find it. I could do an 89 to 93 mix as well but i wanted to capture that vibe when v records etc.. wer putting out the long progressive bassline tunes, which for me had more meaning that the earlier stuff as i was just too young at the time.
  17. see its not that one, sorry that tune is dope though but there was another one.. someone mentioned it on a youtube clip.. basically it has a long intro of just pads and stuff.. i'll probably never know
