  1. Never caught any of them live before. You're lucky though, I sure to hell wish it was me.
  2. Has there been any singles released for this upcoming album, The Show? The Four Brothers track has been circling for sometime, also has the online video http://youtube.com/watch?v=-acWpCzK3is Last thing I peeped was that four tracks were confirmed and producers included Marco Polo, Premier and Nicolay.
  3. Well at least you had some fun dude, I sure hope you did.
  4. Nice!! Good luck and have a great time. I would like to hear the set, if possible.
  5. Ok, the colors are good man. I like them! Originality doesn't come by much these days but to stand out it should be an integral part of your djing career. I'll definitely download Vols 1 and 2. I already did actually. Gonna take a listen and tell you what I think, if you need any feedback.
  6. Yeah man, I thought this was a new one then I recognised the track list. I think it's like 25 to 4 votes in favor of Steve over @ djforums the last time I checked. This mix is crazy, ill!! There is nothing else to add here.
  7. Some great selections, some I know, some I don't. I am thinking about grabbing some classical Hip Hop records soon, hopefully when I'm ready I can find some of these.
  8. Nice one Panda, I haven't heard your previous volumes but I previewed SN3 and it sounds dope so far. Best of luck with your distribution and sales. The album cover is different but interesting. What made you choose the colors?
  9. That's cool man, I would like to see how it turns out. What do you use to design? I assume you will be designing yourself?
  10. This is some really cool stuff, nice find. I am not sure what kind of market there is for stuff like this though, I could be wrong.
  11. That's cool. I do prefer 2nd Nature's sets though, I think this one isn't as creative.
  12. I own the CDJ 800MK2 and I have used the Denons(S5000s and DN-s3500) extensively. The CDX I have also used for some time-probably a few months. Obviously, the CDX has the more vinyl-like feel, I wasn't too crazy about the the pitch control though-I disliked the design. Of all these decks, there is something about the CDJ 800MK2 that I really like. I may get criticised and kicked in the ass, but I prefer the feel of the MK2 over the CDX. There is something about the weight of the platter that allows the manipulation of the audio to be a much more pleasant experience. I have been through a number of decks after vinyl so it took me some time to really find what I was looking for, for me the Pioneer is the ultimate choice. The CDX may be the best but with my prior experience it's not the first on my list.
  13. Nice cuttin-like the flow and the paning was decent.
  14. Nice cuts there Steve and I agree, I wish they were longer. The MC is ......
  15. Way back for me man, I was only three. I appreciate this.
  16. That's funny and interesting at the same time. I would love to view this list-I think a lot of the wack djs may be unknown.
  17. This is a very interesting thread, it should probably be a sticky-the previous posts were good bits to absorb. For me, I began with a crappy direct drive Sony and a Gemini belt drive, both with the rotary pitch knobs-I can't remember what models right now. The mixer was a Pyramid SFX 4 channel with oddly shaped faders and no curve controls with bass and treble being the main eq(no separate channel eqs). There were many things I wanted to do that I couldn't, my setup definitely hindered my progress but I had to make it do. At the time I was faced with many other challenges such as purchasing vinyl, which dug holes in my pocket-12" singles cost $30, albums were $70-80 but that's another story. Eventually I got a pair of Technics 1200s(second hand) and a 3 channel Gemini PS Series(I think), what a difference!--it so suited my style, I improved 2 folds. Currently, the setup I would recommend to someone on a budget would probably be 2 second hand 12s. There are some really excellent deals online where a buyer can purchase 2 Techs for around $400. A decent enough mixer, for straight mixing/scratching, can run someone b/w $100 & $150(Stanton SA-3, AA QD5-MK2). We're looking @ a total of $550, if that's too much then I rather steer someone in the direction of purchasing one deck, along with a decent mixer-more along the lines of the Stanton SA-5. With that I wouldn't recommend anything other than the TT200s and any of the afore mentioned mixers. That will be the absolute least recommended. In terms of cd decks, the only thing other than Pios or Denons I would recommend with vinyl-like control would be the Numark Axis 9s. These decks are the ones I've used on a weekly basis, for a couple hours a week and they have proven themselves to me. It's tough these days, recommending dj equipment for beginners-so many decent choices, as already mentioned. Hopefully my post will help/guide someone.
  18. It really sounds decent @ +8 or -8. It's hardly noticeable. I guess once used with discretion it's fine. I think Serato's gets turned off automatically when scratching---I have only used it once on an acapella and it sounded great!
  19. I am not too knowledgeable where that mod is concerned but I'll look into it.
  20. I was checking this out a few days ago hope it's helpful. http://www.skratchworx.com/reviews/447vs44g.php
