Nanocar

Recommended Posts

It looks like a pair of dumb-bells but this is the nanocar. It consists of a chassis and axles, has working wheels — and redefines the concept of the Mini.

It is made from a single molecule and measures three to four nanometres across. A nanometre is one millionth of a millimetre. A human hair has a diameter of about 80,000 nanometres.

Scientists at Rice University in Houston, Texas, built the nanocar to carry out tests on moving molecular-scale objects.
