Rick Flarez
all the time. Every time I'm on DV, I've got about 5 minutes before my computer locks up irrevocably. I absolutely don't expect a solution to this problem, but that's why i'm not about. Peace! maybe see you when i get a new computer.
Steve
That's really odd mate. Which version of Windows do you use? If it's XP, check the Event Viewer and see if there are any entries relating to the crashes. It might give us a clue what's causing it. Rick Flarez
'98 fool. My computer is an absolute piece of shit, it's got less than a gig of space left out of twenty, it's got this virus that opens folders whenever you type "W"... it's really on its last legs, but it can handle most things on the net, just not dv :s

(it wasn't) *this may be a 1, i wrote it down and now i can't tell.
Steve
Those kind of messages are way too cryptic to understand. There are so many possibilities of what it could be. Do you have McAfee antivirus installed? That can cause those sorts of errors when browsing the web. It could also be a corrupt registry. Try rebooting into DOS mode and then type this: - scanreg /fix Then hit Enter. Also try clicking Start then Run and type "sfc /scannow" without the quotes and hit Enter. You'll need to stick your Windows CD in the drive and then if any system files are corrupt, they will be replaced by fresh copies from the disc. What's the spec of your PC? If it's good enough to run XP, I can send you a copy.

Rick Flarez
hmmm, seems to be ok in IE, although it is pretty torturous to use. It'll have to do i guess.
