Microsoft to get rid of Xbox Live Gold

Later this year it will be replaced by a new service called Xbox Game Pass Core. That service will give you online multiplayer, exclusive deals and discounts, as well as access to around 25 Game Pass games.

These are the games that are confirmed to be part of the service at launch: -

Among Us, Descenders, Dishonored 2, Doom Eternal, Fable Anniversary, Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Forza Horizon 4, Gears 5, Grounded, Halo 5: Guardians, Halo Wars 2, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, Human Fall Flat, Inside, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Psychonauts 2, State of Decay 2, and Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited.

So, it's basically Xbox Live Gold, but instead of Games With Gold where you get a couple of games included per month, you will have access to a library of around 25 games instead, with games rotating in and out every now and then just like they do with the "full" version of Game Pass.

The service launches today, so if you have Gold you'll automatically be switched over to it and all of those games will become playable.
