Unrecord - the most realistic graphics in a game yet?

Dayum, that was intense! Glad I didn't watch that before going to bed.

Yep, graphics are getting damn good, thanks to AI. Been really embracing AI lately and loving it, but initially it was out of fear of being replaced. Now I see and use it as a tool to make my overall work better, quicker. The web is about to change, big time!

Created this a couple weeks ago with the help of AI...

That's one way you can do it, although I haven't had much luck with that route. Yet.

Ultimately, you feed it prompts. In other words, you tell it what to do, using clear instructions and the right words, in order. Then you can request variations of a certain design or upscale it.

Also depends on what AI solution you're using, then what version. For instance, when I use it to conjure up logo concepts, I've found v4 works much better than v5. However, when creating images like the one above, version 5 is ideal. What helps the most is watching YouTube videos on how to use the right prompts, negative prompts, text weights, lighting, style, etc.

To make very specific changes, you need PhotoShop and/or Illustrator. But you can also use similar programs, like Affinity Photo and Affinity Design, respectively. While AI is improving rapidly, it still has its quirks, like 6 fingers on a hand, 3 legs, etc. I find AI is great for coming up with the initial concepts, but then I need to tweak it with legit design software to perfect it.

FYI - Midjourney.com is thus far the best AI for image generation out there. I'm literally happy to give them my money. It's not only time incredibly well spent, but it's also productive and lucrative. I'm totally changing my business branding, website and niche (luxury automotive detailers) thanks to this solution and other AI tools, such as ChatGPT. It's literally game changing.

We use it whenever we can't find info on the web regarding coding. For example we still use SharePoint 2019 on premise. Most articles in the web are now about SharePoint 2019 Live (the cloud version of SharePoint 2019) and finding stuff about 2019 on premise is a bitch to find. Ask that freaking ChatGPT and that thing is providing only 2019 on premise infos, because you tell him so.

Evolve or die. So by saying you need PhotoShop does that mean it's doing this ON your computer with your toold vs being a webapp?

You namely need PhotoShop or Illustrator should you need to tweak the image to your liking. Or, the case of a logo, to remove certain parts, add others, and then add your text (e.g. company name and slogan). AI solutions, such as Midjourney, have a difficult time with text. It generally spits out jibberish text, with a jibberish font (sometimes), so one needs to remove this, then add their own. What's cool about it though is it provides really good concepts that you, or a graphic designer, can follow.

At this time, Midjourney only works on the discord servers. So, you feed it prompts through a discord server (I set up my own, but you can join existing ones dedicated to Midjourney), and then it spits out awesomeness...most of the time. You can also learn from others in these Midjourney discord forums, specifically what prompts they're feeding it.

PS - Fuck PhotoShop, Illustrator and Adobe for that matter. Their monthly subscriptions suck, and their company treats their customers like shit. Instead, you can just purchase alternatives out right, for cheap, such as Affinity Photo and Affinity Design. My Adobe subscription is thankfully almost up, and at that time I'm switching to the aforementioned programs.

PPS - Here's an example of a logo created by Midjourney that still needs some work. For example, if I were to use this, I would change the company name (the current one is jibberish) and I would remove the items below it. This logo would be pretty easy to edit, but some of the others require a legit graphic designer to fix. I suck at Illustrator, so I might have to hire said graphic designer for dolling up Midjourney generated logos.

Yeah, it's awesome like that. People are using it to create WordPress plugins and even full blown websites. And as in your case, you can be very specific with it, like limiting the output to specific software versions.

You ever tried Gimp? It's a free PS clone. It's pretty good.

No I haven't, but have always heard good things about it. I've been totally considering it lately after my Adobe sub is exhausted, but then read up on similar PS solutions and from what I keep hearing is Affinity is the best alternative. And it's only $69...no subscription. I think I'm going this route.

@Steve Sorry for kinda hijacking this thread Steve. I need to start one that's all about AI...been meaning to do so.

So many people are gonna be out of jobs.

The creators of Chat GPT-4 did a demo the other day, where a guy did a sketch of a website idea - a really basic sketch of the layout he wanted - then he took a photo of it and attached it to a post asking the AI to create a website from it, and it provided him the HTML. Admittedly, the site was very basic, but this stuff is advancing at a rapid rate.

Again though, this shit is fucked before we even get started with it.....

Quote

We spent 6 months making GPT-4 safer and more aligned. GPT-4 is 82% less likely to respond to requests for disallowed content.....

If "disallowed content" meant sickos asking for it to generate child porn or something, fair enough, but that's not what's going on here.

Yeah man this tech is going to turn society on its head.

It's advancing at such a rapid rate too. GPT-4 recently passed the Uniform Bar Exam with a score of 75%, higher than the 68% average scored by humans, putting it in the 90th percentile. 4 years ago, GPT-2 scored 0%.

Did you see scientists at UT Austin came up with some tech where AI can basically read your thoughts? Straight up science fiction shit.
