Since the internet became a thing you use regularly, what's the longest you've been without it, and how did you feel about it?

Excluding going away on holidays where I don't give a shit about it, the longest I've been without it is about a week, maybe 10 days, and I hated it way more than I thought I would. It's kinda scary how reliant I am on it, given that I was alive for more than a quarter of a century without it.

What about you?

I've not forcibly done it deliberately (i.e. internet detox), but I've become more conscious of how much time I waste on my phone in particular, and then I get annoyed with myself. There's not loads of critical things I really need the internet for in a massive way - paying bills and doing online banking / life admin, but otherwise I could survive on pretty minimal amount. Accepting that 99% of my TV viewing is now internet streaming, and my music / gaming is pretty much all downloads now!

uuuuh it's been a long time but around 2001 I didn't have any net access for maybe 8 months. I can't think of any other decent length of time where I had no net of any sort... had limited for a few days or maybe a week. Whenever it's happened I've not much noticed because i'm so busy doing other shit... like I didn't have net because I was off doing something cool or that 8 month stretch where I just worked and partied and a lot of bills didn't get paid for so no internet.
