Dan
I've been looking around for a laptop and stumbled upon this: https://www.xmg.gg/en/xmg-dj-15-laptop Seems perfect for what I want (serato /ableton) but I've never heard of them, anyone know anything about them? mrblast
I was looking at this recently. I think one of the guys from DJworx.com was involved in its design/testing. Seems like a good laptop for the money. In the end I've decided to go with something better suite for production as well from scan.co.uk. They have a 3xs range, epcifically designed for production/Djing that are very well reviewed.
Deft
I'm in the market for a Serato laptop (home use only) and had looked at the ones from Scan (even though their desktop building service wasn't great when I bought one years ago). Then I was thinking I might try chancing it with a cheapy £500 job. How hard can it be to run Serato at home eh?

Having said that, you could probably find something with lowish latency in that price range as long as you only plan to use it for Serato. if you think you might start adding equipment/software, I would increase your budget. Dan
So it turns out that these XMG Laptops are rebranded "TongFang" laptops from China. A number of companies rebranded them as their own (PC specialist is one of them). I also emailed their "audio support" early last week and still haven't had a reply so i won't be getting one of these. Deft, if it's any help I ran Serato my old work laptop which is a Dell Vostro with an 8th Gen Core i5 and 8GB of ram which loads of shit running in the background and it seemed happy.
