medinah_nitro
Over 20 years on Mos and Kweli will reduce their sophomore album entirely produced by Madlib!
TBearOne8III
I dunno. That rumor has been out for about a year. If it happens then great.
kebzer
If it's not DJ Hi-Tek then I don't care.
broma
Is Hi-Tek still producing? As much as I love a bit of Madlib it'd be good to hear the original crew reunited.
medinah_nitro
I dont think hi tek did much of the original black star lp it was a range of producers People like 88 keys and Shawn j period was on there too He was more the producer for talib werent he
broma
Ah yeah good point. Shawn J Period did some wicked stuff back in the day.
DJ Rock Well
...until his Christianity took over, he decided sampling was stealing and that was pretty much the end of that. I dunno, a couple of beats aside I found Shawn J a bit dull TBH. Also, Hi-Tek produced about half the Black Star album beats and I think was part of the sound. I love Madlib, but Im not so sure he is the answer here. Although Im not sure what this will sound like. To me, the first album was a moment in time which has passed and neither slavishly trying to reproduce it or trying to update it will work. But thats just my miserably aging outlook
danswift
...until his Christianity took over, he decided sampling was stealing and that was pretty much the end of that.So he graduated from stealing samples to joining one of the biggest gangs of liars and thieves known to mankind then, basically?..
