ericuk
I ended up cooking and burning chicken ... I will take my case off some day... But that's not a bad option if it works

iexist
looking for spare black/red fader caps: http://www.stokyoworld.com/product_p/vestax-faderhead2-blkrd.htm any one know of other resources?
DJ Rock Well
There was a guy in the UK who was the Vestax distro who sells bits on eBay as "mikesbbikes" but I doubt it'll be any easier or cheaper than Stokyo.
iexist
Couldnt find the ebayer.. Stokyo is sold out, but I reached out to them anyway. It'd be nice to customize caps with more than a black or white line.
Chris
DJ tech tools make knobs and faders and they've just refreshed their range with improved quality apparently, and coolor caps is another one that does different colours. There's probably a ton of others too...
DJ Rock Well
Also, you could just put out public request to all DJs you know to check boxes of spares... someone out there must have a couple
iexist
may have struck gold at vstservice.com for fader caps. (fyi)
DJ Rock Well
Good call! Now you mention it, somebody did once suggested them for Vestax spares and I bought MPC bits off them years ago. Glad you got it sorted.
johnydest
I found some photos I took of the mod the last time I did it - http://www.digitalvertigo.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=37018&p=395602 You might just be able to reverse engineer it from thatI am trying to reverse engineer the mod.I have located the pins that the cables are soldered but I dont know how they are connected to the switch. In this picture I mark the pins from both sides of the boards.Would this help you tell how are the cables coneected to the switch? Guest rasteri
Hmm OK, I think the yellow dots go to the middle terminals of the switch, the blue dots go to the left terminals, and the pink/red dots go to the right terminals. More stuff is coming back to me..... you see the PCB traces between the blue dots and the yellow dots? You need to cut them. Use a stanley knife or something, round about where I've made this white mark : If the Master setting is too loud, you might need to put a resistor in line with the red/pink wires, maybe a 10Kohm or something. But you can cross that bridge when you come to it.
johnydest
Thank you very much Rasteri! So what is left to find out is which of the pink/red dots is the Left and which is the Right channel. I suppose there will be a problem if they are connected wrong.

Well it just means left and right will be swapped If they are just swap the wires and you're ok again
