2ndhand
gmail is the best webmail there isits super fast and if ad's that i dont even notice mean there's more space even better. if you use email, then gmail is right up your street

2ndhand
oh please.its not someone reading them personally, looking for offences of any kind. when you do a google search it directs ad's with respect to the keywords you use / search results you get. same thing. Guest Deeswift
I never notice any ads. Maybe Firefox blocks them. I just don't think I need Gmail, I have so many other accounts. Hotmail, Yahoo X 2, Ninjastyle.plus.com, and I think I have a Digital Vertigo account which I've never used. So, no real need for it. I do admit I'm suspicious about Gmail though. 2ndhand
i never even noticed the gmail ads until someone pointed them out. but yes firefox may block them. they might be done in a script that it can block. i am doing a site using vb.net for a mate. you can test it in firefox when it's ready! In my opinion the problem is that they collect information and 1: wont say what they do (will do) with it, 2: they don't delete it ever. 3: they're taking over the world, with their literature search coming up and their TV & video search adding to their already popular web, shopping, images, and academic searches and they know a shitload about you. There's nothing to say that certain things aren't flagged.
cbay
fucken conspiracty shit and yes FREE 2 GIG EMAIL STORAGE IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE there MUST be a catch. for real.
Steve
I wouldn't get too concerned with GMail automatically scanning your mail for ads. After all, that's how they generate revenue to be able to offer you 2GB of storage.
2ndhand
mine is on 2063mb now. i dont think there is a catch. the ads are pay per click (by the person that pays for the advert) the pay per click scheme means the idea just breeds money. like the other goooooogle ads. and with the vendor paying for each click, you are less likely to get mindless spam. if you are worried about the email server keeping logs (they all do btw) then you are better with post. or fax.dont let these conspiracy stories put you off using the webmail that pisses on hotmail's tits. 2063mb and rising. fat. cbay
2 gig is ridiculous. especially when the limit is 10 mb for a file
2ndhand
sending a file FROM gmail is 10mb limit if you send to gmail form somewhere else (thus using gmail as storage) you can send up to the limit of the other email client. someone emailed me an 11meg VW movie clip one time. gmail obviously work out what is reasonable to allow.i mean if they allowed 100 meg emails, then the servers would grind to a halt as we all mail albums to each other then the service would be shit metaphorically the 10meg limit is like the lampshape a dog has to wear to stop it biting his wound and making it worse. cbay
OHHHHH i see. thanks for that. so if someone's email server let them send 50mb, the gmail would accept it?
