klustor
I put up a new Looper for Android yesterday, you can snag it by going to www.skratchloopersapp.co.uk, that will kick you to the Google Play page and it's Vol 3 you're looking for. It's got 12 beats (just stuff ripped from old Dirt Style records atm) and a working ultrapitch. They are free, no ads, no permissions, nothing, just loops. The only other loopers out there for Android atm are the Thud Rumble ones as far as I know. I'm working on a speed booster style pitch adjust but it's not quite there yet. It's nothing special, but should be useful for portable setups. Edited January 3, 2016 by klustor
Guest Symatic
Biggups mate! I dont have an android phone but fair play to you for making this
klustor
Cheers Symatic! I know the TableBeats app is supposed to be coming to Android soon so these will be kinda obsolete, but in the meantime it should sort of bridge the gap. ericuk
Mate the app is brilliant. Much love. The beats aren't all my cup of tea, but you've got an awesome template and I'm already a fan of volume 2
klustor
Cheers Eric! The beats were stupidly the one thing I didn't really focus on too much, was more a case of just grabbing a couple records and ripping some loops off, I just wanted to get the code done and dusted. I'm gonna redo Vol. 1 & 2 in the same style as 3 sometime this week, so you'll have the ultrapitch and hopefully the speed trainer if I can get it working by then, it's pretty close to being done. If there's any beats you'd like on the next one, either self made or just stuff that would be handy to have then just shout!
Guest petesasqwax
DOPE!I didn't know that you can remotely install apps on your phone via your PC either. I just clicked the link and it took to me the Play store where (because I was signed in to my Google account) it asked me which device I wanted to install onto. Ill shit!
kebzer
Absolutely fastastic work klustor! Thanks for treating us Android users with some loopers! I was thinking about trying to do the same and translate my SODB looper from Flash to Android, but couldn't bother with Adobe AIR enough (I had enough headaches while working around SwishMax already). Did you code that directly on AIR or found a way to bounce it from Flash?
klustor
Cheers for the feedback everyone! I've just updated Vol. 03, it now has a Speed Trainer button, so it will kick the pitch down pretty low (prob -15% or so) and then speed it up slowly over ten minutes till it reaches +15% or so. Pretty much the same function that's on the Thud Rumble loopers. It should also stop the screen from sleeping after whatever you've set your phone to timeout on, which stops the loop. No more interrupted sessions! The update should automatically push to anyone who's already got it installed, will probably take a couple hours to get published tho, plus I forgot something so you might get two updates in a row. Sorry about that. As for flash loopers to Android, Adobes Flash Pro will export to Android, so the coding is roughly the same, just some little tweaks here and there. I used to use a "borrowed" version of CS5 to do it, so you don't need the latest or anything. I've should still have the old source for Vol. 01 and 02 kicking around somewhere, I'll see if I can dig it out and upload it. Vol. 03 was totally rewritten so I could drop the need for people having to have Adobe Air installed. Always on the look out for beats if anyones got anything to chuck my way, feel free to spread the word!
kebzer
Klustor, thanks for the tips about Adobe Pro! I'll check it out, as I am starting myself a little series of loopers this year (already got the SODB out, but still only on swf/exe format). ericuk
On the updated volume 3, there is the same beat on 2 buttons. I like the beat, so much love. The screen doesn't lock either so happy days. Thanks again.
klustor
Damn, how did I miss that?! Corrected it now, should push to your phone in the next few hours. Kebzer, getting Android loopers working requires a bit of ActionScript which is a bit different but I know I've got the code somewhere so I can sling you that bit, aside that it's pretty much just the same deal as making a normal flash looper. If you want to release it on Google Play you gotta pay a developer fee, it used to be £25 but that was a while back, not sure if it's still the same. If you do get one done and you want it released but don't wanna pay it, just fire it my way and I'll upload it. Had the chance to check out the SODB looper today, my soundcard died a couple weeks back so I've been soundless till today, it's a seriously nice looper!! Will be abusing that in the future for sure! kebzer
klustor, we about to get down on business! If you want the SODB one, I can send it over to you for upload on Google Play. But it's on Swishmax format...

Guest It'sPhilFromThursdays
Do some scratching to it, though Eric, don't just dance round in the nude to it with the speed trainer on Cheers for doing these dude, you are a star, these are dope loopers, i really love the first two, great beats on them. This one seems really cool, loving the speed booster on it. It'd be cool if you could set it for different time lengths going up to an hour. Thanks THANKS + KLUSTOR = THLUSTOR. klustor
Cheers for the feedback everyone! Glad to know it's useful and it's going down well. I only made it cause my soundcard was dead and loopers have made me lazy enough to be pissed at the idea of beats ending and switching records.... Would be wicked to have some videos of people using em, there's space for a demo vid on the Play store so I'll throw one of them up in there if that's alright with whoever does it. Trying to fill vol 4 with some less predictable loops so if there's anything that anyone thinks would be handy or if you've got something you want on it then just shout me. I've got a couple that I've done to chuck on it too, think there's a few of mine on vol 2. Will def look at making the length of the speed booster adjustable, should be easy enough, although saying that, it might take a minute to sort. I'll see if there's a way the user can set the time so you can put in whatever. Never thought that, so cheers Phil! And thlustor... lol! Mista_Ed
Dope man!! Just had a peek at volume 3.. Works real nicely!! Hope u make some with some with some hip hop beats I can cut to!... Never been a fan of "scratch beats" But good work on behalf of the Android crew!! Boom
klustor
I'm just gonna put this out there, if anyone wants an Android looper made then just hit me up. If you send me the artwork and loops, then I'll put it together with the pitch adjust and speed trainer. Just be aware that I'm working to a 1920x1080 resolution so if it's based on an already existing looper, it will probably look a bit different, but it helps get some more Android loopers out there. Also, if anyone's got any beat requests then just let me know or even better, fire me over the loops and I'll put them on the next volume.
