  1. There's a new volume of the Skratch Loopers Android app out today. It's free, no permissions or ads or anything, has 30 loops on it, ultrapitch adjust and speed trainer like Vol. 3. The loops have been sourced (or stolen) from a few places, I've tried to put a decent mix of styles on there but more than likely just put stuff that I like scratching to. Any issues/suggestions/beats/whatever then hit me up! Head over to www.skratchloopersapp.co.uk to snag it from the Google Play store.
  2. This whole situation is kinda odd to me, cause I don't really see what's so different to the way battles are done today. The days of people doing real vinyl, like no dubs, nothing, just straight up released pressed vinyl went out of the DMC era in like 2001ish or some shit, not to mention most of the battles today seem to rely on a certain amount of pre-production. I'm not saying pre-recorded cuts, but more of a convenient arrangement. It's called advancement, it's people using tools to their advantage to reach new limits of what's possible rather than sticking to what was possible 20 years ago. Both are good, but if that's the way you choose to do things then good for you. What makes me laugh is it's like a bunch of people saw Rob's comments then all started jumping on the bandwagon, "oh shit, if you look at 2:34.645 for a split second the fader is closed but I can still hear that deck, proof it's pre-recorded, fakes" whatever. Then Rob comes back with a juggle. Like, if we are gonna look at things here, how does that even compare? Complex routine that musta taken hours of arrangement - 3 minute juggle. Don't get me wrong, I grew up listening to Rob Swift, X-Ecutioners, I respect the guy and he's got some crazy skills, and that juggle would have taken practice and skill to pull off, but unless Rob is gonna turn around and do a similar complex routine with all vinyl, no DVS, no cue points, I just don't get what the juggle was supposed to achieve. The point is, it's not possible with vinyl. The routine they did wouldn't have been possible without pre-production, and somehow to some people that makes it less legit. It wasn't like they just beat chased each segment, they showcased serious skill in the execution of it all and it was on point. I know tablism is always gonna be competitive, but fuck me Rob, pop a Valium buddy.
  3. I'm just gonna put this out there, if anyone wants an Android looper made then just hit me up. If you send me the artwork and loops, then I'll put it together with the pitch adjust and speed trainer. Just be aware that I'm working to a 1920x1080 resolution so if it's based on an already existing looper, it will probably look a bit different, but it helps get some more Android loopers out there. Also, if anyone's got any beat requests then just let me know or even better, fire me over the loops and I'll put them on the next volume.
  4. Def gonna cop this! Any plans to ever put out a C&P 10"? After messing around with the TSL 10s I'm totally diggin them to skratch with.
  5. Cheers for the feedback everyone! Glad to know it's useful and it's going down well. I only made it cause my soundcard was dead and loopers have made me lazy enough to be pissed at the idea of beats ending and switching records.... Would be wicked to have some videos of people using em, there's space for a demo vid on the Play store so I'll throw one of them up in there if that's alright with whoever does it. Trying to fill vol 4 with some less predictable loops so if there's anything that anyone thinks would be handy or if you've got something you want on it then just shout me. I've got a couple that I've done to chuck on it too, think there's a few of mine on vol 2. Will def look at making the length of the speed booster adjustable, should be easy enough, although saying that, it might take a minute to sort. I'll see if there's a way the user can set the time so you can put in whatever. Never thought that, so cheers Phil! And thlustor... lol!
  6. Damn, how did I miss that?! Corrected it now, should push to your phone in the next few hours. Kebzer, getting Android loopers working requires a bit of ActionScript which is a bit different but I know I've got the code somewhere so I can sling you that bit, aside that it's pretty much just the same deal as making a normal flash looper. If you want to release it on Google Play you gotta pay a developer fee, it used to be £25 but that was a while back, not sure if it's still the same. If you do get one done and you want it released but don't wanna pay it, just fire it my way and I'll upload it. Had the chance to check out the SODB looper today, my soundcard died a couple weeks back so I've been soundless till today, it's a seriously nice looper!! Will be abusing that in the future for sure!
  7. Well no rush, I can see me making a few of these now it's all done and working so whenever is good!
  8. Cheers for the feedback everyone! I've just updated Vol. 03, it now has a Speed Trainer button, so it will kick the pitch down pretty low (prob -15% or so) and then speed it up slowly over ten minutes till it reaches +15% or so. Pretty much the same function that's on the Thud Rumble loopers. It should also stop the screen from sleeping after whatever you've set your phone to timeout on, which stops the loop. No more interrupted sessions! The update should automatically push to anyone who's already got it installed, will probably take a couple hours to get published tho, plus I forgot something so you might get two updates in a row. Sorry about that. As for flash loopers to Android, Adobes Flash Pro will export to Android, so the coding is roughly the same, just some little tweaks here and there. I used to use a "borrowed" version of CS5 to do it, so you don't need the latest or anything. I've should still have the old source for Vol. 01 and 02 kicking around somewhere, I'll see if I can dig it out and upload it. Vol. 03 was totally rewritten so I could drop the need for people having to have Adobe Air installed. Always on the look out for beats if anyones got anything to chuck my way, feel free to spread the word!
  9. Cheers Eric! The beats were stupidly the one thing I didn't really focus on too much, was more a case of just grabbing a couple records and ripping some loops off, I just wanted to get the code done and dusted. I'm gonna redo Vol. 1 & 2 in the same style as 3 sometime this week, so you'll have the ultrapitch and hopefully the speed trainer if I can get it working by then, it's pretty close to being done. If there's any beats you'd like on the next one, either self made or just stuff that would be handy to have then just shout!
  10. Cheers Symatic! I know the TableBeats app is supposed to be coming to Android soon so these will be kinda obsolete, but in the meantime it should sort of bridge the gap.
  11. I put up a new Looper for Android yesterday, you can snag it by going to www.skratchloopersapp.co.uk, that will kick you to the Google Play page and it's Vol 3 you're looking for. It's got 12 beats (just stuff ripped from old Dirt Style records atm) and a working ultrapitch. They are free, no ads, no permissions, nothing, just loops. The only other loopers out there for Android atm are the Thud Rumble ones as far as I know. I'm working on a speed booster style pitch adjust but it's not quite there yet. It's nothing special, but should be useful for portable setups.
  12. Nah that's fine, the codes mainly done now so I'll probably throw out a couple. Not got the speed booster style script done yet, but it's got a working ultra pitch adjust after a bit of tweaking!
  13. The represses are due in a few weeks, they released a statement about it. How they missed it tho, the first thing I would do when they got back from the plant is grab a couple and try them out.
  14. I made a couple of loopers for Android a while back (creatively titled "Skratch Loopers"), and thought I'd make another. I've ditched it needing Adobe Air and I'm working on getting the same features as the Warflex loopers (speed adjustment, speed trainer). I'm just throwin them out for free so it's non profit, but if anyone's got any loops they can throw me then give me a shout! Cheers!
  15. Just a heads up to anyone wanting to cop the Mini Enter The Scratch Game 7s, someone fucked up somewhere and they got pressed at 45, which means the skipless is fucked up and no longer works. Dunno why they are still selling them but there we go, save yourself some cash or wait for the repress!!
  16. Well fuck em, I wouldn't support it out of principle now. I mean I know I'm only 1 person and it doesn't make much difference to them, but there's no denying that someone didn't flat out steal the design. Even if they had something in development before, what are the chances it would look identical?! I'd rather put up with popping faders or (with a bit of luck) snag one of these PCB and fader deals than support people with zero morals.
  17. Turns out it's nothing to do with the PS7 guys. That's a shitty move by DJ Tech/Thud Rumble.
  18. I'm thinking maybe as it's a prototype knocked up early just for show at NAMM then maybe they just wanted it done and dusted, so skipped the battery part for now cause it's not really relevant at the show and went straight for mains? I dunno, a portable that needs a plugging in just doesn't make sense. I'm more interested in if it was something that the PS7 team are collabing with Thud Rumble and DJ Tech with, or if they just saw the poster and straight stole the design. There's no mention of it on the PS7 FB page which seems to be the only source for info on it. Plus, what's the bets on that fader being cheap junk? If so, what's the real benefit of opting for one of them over a portable that already exists and a Raden/Frisk? The major upside for me with regards to the PS7 was the innofader, so if that's gone then what's the point? Edit: Just realised that's probably what the IF in the product ID stands for..... Yeah, I'm just that stupid sometimes.
  19. Unexpected drop.... Not sure if it's actually related to the PS7 or not yet, but it looks identical! http://djworx.com/dj-techs-pre-christmas-surprise-the-dif-7pt
  20. Thanks for the welcome Pete. Living in Croydon right now, originally from South Wales (cue sheep jokes).
  21. Is it too late to jump on the list for that PCB & fader combo?
  22. Thought I'd drop something in here, I'm Klustor (or Steve), been skratching way too long to be as sloppy as I actually am, make the odd beat now and again.... That's about it really. Was bought here looking for ways to mod my PT01 and hit the jackpot!
