Phology
What's the best tried and tested method to flatten out warped vinyl? I see lots of varying tips on the web; using steam from a kettle, putting the record under paving slabs for a week, etc... Anyone had any good results, or any ideas? Backtrack
I bought two thick pieces of glass. Put the record in the oven (70 degrees Celsius) between the glass sheets. After 10 mins take it out and let it cool of. Have some heavy things on the glass so it cools of under a little pressure. It has worked for me every time. I once forgot a record and it got it destroyed. Made a vase of it instead.
DJ Rock Well
There's a thread here already for this from a year or two ago. Not that helpful without a link I know, sorry.
Kasbe
I have dewarped 2 of my records by heating them with a hair drier and then putting books on top of them overnight. I've also been told that putting them between 2 glass pieces and leaving them in the sun for some hours works ok.
Phology
Doesn't using heat melt the grooves?

waxdestroyer
i bought the Vinyl Flat 2 years ago, have flattened about 50 records, its simple and very effective tool with the heat pouch, takes about 3 hours per record and then most of the warps gone http://www.vinylflat.com/vinylflatproducts.html

Phology
cheers guys - that Vinyl Flat looks pretty decent, id rather use something like that than try and botch something together. theres been a few charity shop purchases recently that are pretty warped, i've tried the old classic method of putting a few heavy books on top but never got good results.
