HansFree
Hi, i've been hearing this scratch for a while. i've managed to find an example of it at about 1min 10 sec on the below video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYWgHNE7Hu4 I'll try and find a better example because shadow and cut chemist kept doing it when i saw them a few days ago. It actually seems basic enough. i think it's a scribble with a chirp or something thrown in.I tend to hear it right at the end of a bar as sort of a intro to the next set of scratches there about to use. Anyway I would love to learn this scratch and any help would be appreciated.
Guest rasteri
If you mean the bit directly before 1:10, looks like the joe cooley scratch.

Guest rasteri
Maybe a joe cooley with a scribble instead of a swirl?

waxdestroyer
If you mean the bit directly before 1:10, looks like the joe cooley scratch. Thats a Howie Tee Scratch, Qbert got it wrong, im sure he'll agree with that Howie Tee invented that in 86 as he displayed on the vid "Bang Zoom" Joe Cooley invented a different chirp pattern wich can be heard on "Your Chance to Rock" 2 different chirp patterns wich ppl get mixed up

HansFree
@ericuk - Yea boy that it. You nailed it at 1.22. I will have a closer look at this when i get home, but thanks. Looks basic enough and shouldn't be that hard to learn. Thanks again for taking the time to do the video. Ps: i saw that bit of showing off at the end. ericuk
Good stuff, I thought I might get the sound you were after somewhere in there. Instead of doing a swirl? then chirp, you may also wish to throw in some stabs as per the variations in the video
