DJ Rock Well
Two thoughts... It's a shame he didn't get the love death brought him when he was still alive. As much as I respect him, there are many other producers I enjoy more. TBH for my own tastes, he peaked at Runnin and never bettered it. Guest petesasqwax
Couldn't agree more. Why no "Dilla changed my life?" t-shirts before he died? There's a whole chunk of the "beats scene" which should have one of those t-shirts permanently stapled to their person. His death was an absolute tragedy, no question about that whatsoever, but Nas rhyming over a well-known "unreleased" Dilla beat at this stage scores highly on my cynicism meter. My favourite post-"Runnin'" Dilla beat is this Hallowe'en-themed Oh No number, for what it's worth:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Mtm6GqpPW8
Nuno
While I agree with the premise of the article, it's still a pretty sick track
