  1. I've been really looking forward to this one, will preorder it as soon as I stop being poor.
  2. get it, I bought one last year and haven't looked back, great mixer and the eternal fader is the best crossfader I've used
  3. Has anyone here ever used one of these? What's the verdict? They seem to be discontinued too, which I found a bit odd.
  4. have you got ableton live 9? if so, their audio to midi converter is usually pretty spot on
  5. There's just something inherently revolting about death penalty. I know it's partially due to cultural differences, but I couldn't help feeling a bit sick reading that, it just seems so uncivilized, like something out of a dystopian novel.
  6. While I agree with the premise of the article, it's still a pretty sick track
  7. No new updates on the Super Scratch Sunday front? I was looking forward to spending another afternoon feeling starstruck and repressing my inner fanboy. On another note, is there anyone I can shamelessly beg to for a discounted ticket for Sunday?
  8. Someone had to do it. Who's going?
  9. As I said, I studied at Alchemea and couldn't recommend it enough. It is an engineering course, though, so it covers more than just production (acoustics, live recordings, studio building, etc) which might not be his thing - still, a lot of people in my year were into EDM, and some guys called Third Party went there as well, which hopefully will mean more to him than it did to me. He should have a good read through both courses syllabus and see what he thinks, and then e-mail them asking about the issue with the visas.
  10. Where is he from? I studied at Alchemea and the class above mine was almost entirely made up of former Point Blank students, who had been forced to drop out because of the school's failure to sort out their visa paperwork. I'd be wary of that if he's non-EU, but other than that it's supposed to be a really good place - I think Dooban did some Ableton training there, he'll be able to tell you more.
  11. Cheers man, the looper is brilliant!
  12. Could anyone kindly reupload this? I swear I had it somewhere, but haven't been able to find it, plus all the links seem to be dead. Pretty please?
  13. Cheers guys, think I'm going for it!
  14. I've just been offered a second hand Ecler Hak 360 for 150 pounds and I'm thinking of taking it. I've heard good things, but never really tried one, is this a good deal?
  15. Second what Blak Randy said, Fakser's video is amazing but it's got to be IQ, unreal stuff.
  16. Timbaland: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i7P6ut6HPR8
  17. Thanks, man, that's exactly what I was looking for. I think I'll start by e-mailing Sennheiser and then take it from there.
  18. My rane 56 has had a broken pan pot for a while now, and I'm looking to get it fixed. Do you know of any good repair shops in London?
  19. I'd say Vekked's got a very valid point when it comes to Vajra's judging skills.
  20. I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Jon came third with Ruftone second.
  21. Ah, cheers guys, thanks for the suggestions. I was thinking stuff more in the Daptone mould, throwback soul-funk, or deep funk if you'd rather, more than the George Clinton type of funk. I'll make sure to check out some of the names Doob mentioned and that I didn't know about, and I've also found out that a documentary on Charles Bradley came out a couple of months ago. I feel inclined to agree with Rock Well, though, not much seems to be happening these days.
  22. What the title says, really. Has there been any good soul/funk music coming out as of late?
  23. I was ten years old when this thread was started.
