password protecting harddrives...

I have loads of child porn and Silk Road deets on my drives and...

no,

i just have a ton of hardrives, and i was thinking about maybe password protecting them for the sake of a bit of security.

Unfortunately I dont have the windows 7 bitlocker thing as i'm using home edition (and i'll be using on a mac too & possibly an XP pc...)

My WD drives came with some software that is cross platform compatible, but i also have verbatim and toshiba drives too.

Anyone know an all in one remedy? A free one?

Also is there a way of making a drive read only for some people and not for like me. Just so if people are using them they dont fuck em up on me...

yeah thats the one i stumbled upon...and i installed it on a memory key to try it out.

it seems like a bit of effort having to mount each time, as i plug in and out the harddrives a lot...

i would prefer a simple password type but it does seem to be the best...
