Guest Symatic
half scratch lesson, half philosophy lesson. cheers chile! i actually have been trying to do this recently. theres a few things i repeatedly do that really annoy me when i hear them. I think one thing to break them is doing more stuff backwards, eg starting on a backwards stroke rather than forwards and you end up coming up with new ways to finish the phrase you started. the other thing that has made a huge difference for a friend i scratch with is holding the record differently, and i'm still trying to break habits so i can copy him. I normally have a very loose grip on the record, and my style is quite low energy and lazy. i like lots of styles like this but im limited on doing quick clean stuff.
Motek
this is bang on the money and employing this technique in recent weeks has helped me immensely.
