Steve Posted December 18, 2012 Share Posted December 18, 2012 A man who hacked the email accounts of the actress Scarlett Johansson before sending nude photos of the star to gossip websites has been jailed for 10 years. Christopher Chaney, of Jacksonville, Florida, accessed the personal accounts of more than 50 celebrities. Nude pictures of Johansson, 29, intended for her ex-husband Ryan Reynolds were subsequently published on the internet. The 35-year-old admitted wiretapping and unauthorised access to a computer. He was jailed by US District Judge S James Otero yesterday. Judge Otero said: "These types of crimes are as pernicious and serious as physical stalking." How can some one end up losing a huge chunk of there life for that when compared to the recent slap on the wrist the French mag got for taking snaps and publishing pictures of a royal with her jugs out? I think there's a big difference (IMHO) between snapping photos of the royal whatsherface in "public"...and hacking to gain access to privately snapped photos. I think 10 years is OTT mind you, but I can see why it would carry a greater punishment than taking a regular paparazzi-type photo. I guess if you're in a hedge taking pics of nude women to sell to the papers it's called "being a professional photographer", but if you're doing it for fun you're "a peeping Tom and a fucking pervert". But stalking celebs by hacking computers or by taking pictures of them on private property without permission still has similar stink to me. Not that I massively give a shit in the grand scheme of things, I like boobs, especially ones I'm not supposed to see. I guess if you're in a hedge taking pics of nude women to sell to the papers it's called "being a professional photographer", but if you're doing it for fun you're "a peeping Tom Kinda like if ya being payed to be filmed fucking people, your a porn star, take the video camera out and all of sudden your a hooker. Officials said that music aficionados James Marks, 27, and James McCormick, 26, used their home computers to access Sony's servers and scour them for Jackson-related material. Shortly after her ascent to fame in Lost In Translation, I recall reading about her falling out with the director of a subsequent film she starred in - she wanted to appear topless during the love scene in said film, but the director wanted his film to be regarded as a piece of art, not just the film where Scarlett Johansson got her boobs out. IMO she's the classic dowdy kid who grew up, turned hot and wants the whole world to know about it. I wasn't a bit surprised when these pics turned up... the biggest surprise to me is that she didn't orchestrate it, or at least that she followed through with the court case. Still, I guess the outcome here was about as win/win as it gets for Miss Johansson - she got loads of media attention, she got to keep the apparent moral high ground and even a bit of sympathy along the way... and most of all, she got show the whole world her naked body while it's still hot.
