d00ban
Err guys, I'm still a bit stuck on this. @ Stve I've turned down the buffer setting but I'm still getting a bit of latency, I only really notice it if I have my headphones in and have it coming out of the speakers at the same time. It's weird, if I just go with the sound coming out of the speakers I can pretty much compensate for it. Shall I just put up with it? @ Mikey, here's how it's set up at the min @ Chris, I really don't get what you were on about earlier. The reason I like it set up the way it is now is it's not too far off my usual set up, so I can still DJ normally without having to rewire the whole thing. Sorry for being such a dumb-ass guys! Your help is much appreciated.
Chris
recording delay compensation will be in the audio settings of your DAW and you will be able to precisely set it to always place sound where it should be by telling it how late it is. Chris
also just to clarify, the first option (overdub only) you are not monitoring your record channel when you record. just send out what you have, record it back in without it being monitored. You'll hear what you're doing through the speakers.
doppelkorn
Nice diagram. From that I reckon the latency issue is due to some setting in Reaper or on your Mac. When you look in Preferences > Device are you seeing anything that looks like a latency setting or a buffer setting?
Chris
The UC202 is a crappy sound card, you can't get around the latency. Even on a card capable of really tiny latency it's far better to set up your equipment in a way that it's not even in the signal chain... d00ban
Wicked, I agree with you Chris, I'd rather have no latency if I can manage to avoid it. Will give it a bash when I can
doppelkorn
I think we should have a "who has the best graf handwriting" on DV. I know Wax has a pretty nice handstyle and now Chris is throwing up shapes...
d00ban
Probably wouldn't bother Mike! I think we can probably safely assume it's Soren. Unless any one else does graf proper stylee? I like Chris' drawing of an Apple though
Steve
I'm not ignoring this thread BTW, d00b. I just don't have anything to add that hasn't already been said. Chris's drawing of an apple looks like a cock with a bite taken out of it.

d00ban
Chris, thanks so much. The send fx thing works a treat, I can't believe I didn't know you could do that! Makes life so much easier. Thanks again man
