Dan Posted January 11, 2012 Share Posted January 11, 2012 I'm a member of deviantART and today I came across this gallery: http://face-yourself.deviantart.com/gallery/ I was blown away by the raw power and emotion that these images show - and once you learn the woman's story it makes them even more so. She was abused by her mother, various men and later forced into the sex industry where she was constantly raped and beaten. After she got out she tried to to take her life a few times and never got the proper help she needed. Things are much better for her now and she helps others who have had similar ordeals. She wants to use her art to show the lasting emotional effects these horrific crimes can have. I got speaking to her as I found her work amazing and it helped me to understand a little better what my cousin must have been feeling after she was raped. I said I would help spread the word about what her art is about and the work she does to help people now. She also has a website: http://suzzanb.com/ Please spread the word.
