Steve
This guide is for videos where the audio is out of sync at a constant rate throughout. It's no good for videos that get gradually more and more out of sync as they play. 1. If you have VLC media player, play the out of sync video using it and use the J and K keys to shift the audio so it's in sync. Make a note of the number of milliseconds (this is displayed on screen) you had to shift it to get it to sync, then exit VLC. 2. Install Nandub. It's free. 3. Fire up Nandub and go to File - Open video file... and open your out of sync file. 4. From the Video menu, make sure "Direct stream copy" is selected. 5. In the Audio menu, click on "Interleaving..." and a new box will open. 6. In the audio skew correction box, enter in the number of milliseconds that you noted earlier (a negative number if necessary) and hit OK. 7. Go to File - Save as AVI... and save your file. This process doesn't re-encode the file which means there's no quality loss and it only takes literally seconds to save (on a fairly modern PC).
