Dan
I'm bored so just made one of those clever live cds and i'm having a go with ubuntu, and I'm surprised how much like windows it is and how easy to use it is, but why use it? it seems to do everything windows can (i can even use my ipod) so what's the point of it? Guest rasteri
It's great as a server OS, or if you want to modify it to do something that windows can't do (like run without a monitor, or boot from CD). It's also good as a desktop OS for professionals and "serious" computer users. If you just wanna play games and run serato, forget it. Just use windows. Matt
am i right in thinking you don't have to use a killer antivirus too? i fancied getting an asus eee atom with linux but i can't run serato on it. the idea i had had was that because linux is much less resource sapping than xp it would allow me to do more with the same spec. alas..
