More info?

Nothing under control panel > sounds & audio devices?

I just googled and it looks like Vista's audio stack has been completely redesigned and supports per-application audio settings. I've been pulling my hair out over XP's shitty management of the three audio devices I use with my laptop; if Vista is better then I'm sold already!

PS - just had a thought. If you have onboard 5.1, the line-in and mic inputs are often substituted to serve the rear channels and center/sub respectively. Check this?
