  1. You can buy a stick on joystick for the ipad just for that purpose
  2. bugger... i still havent finished the first one! too many open projects!
  3. I was planning on starting everthing from scratch with ableton and writing a tutorial from a complete noob perspective. however i managed to be a such a noob about it that I had to return the computer i was using with ableton to my dad and the computer io bought to replace it wasnt able to run it properly. yeah yeah, epic fail etc. but im hoping to start this again in a few weeks (as soon as my new PC case and windows 7 is delivered) I found the in built tutorials worked really well, but because i had the, shall we say, less than authentic version, it didnt come with the proper libraries that the tuorial was built around and had to make my own. Trial and error always seems to work best for me. For example, ill compose a basic arrangement, and then tweak every setting untill i find something i like the sound of. I could never get accapellas to sit right though. they would always warp completely out of control.
  4. I would probably put myself at a 5 I know my way around most software, excel word etc are pretty straight forward for me. especially Excel. I got to the stage where I could make graphs with sliders and drop down menus. Ive not used it much since all the software i use now is in German. I cant seem to cope well with other software or unfamiliar interfaces though. I cant operate a Mac or get ubuntu working on a computer, even with following instructions. Im rather internet savvy, i know where to look for answers and whats genuine or a scam. but i still struggle when getting the odd tricky virus. Hardware wise, I am actually building a computer right now. I have the mother board, CPU, RAM, hard drive, graphics card, power supply and DVD writer. Im just waiting on the case to be delivered next week before I go and order windows 7. I havent actually looked at how it all fits together though, Im hoping i will work it all out once my case arrives and I start connecting wires to different things.
  5. its not often i beat people to music replies on here, so im happy with that
  6. You mean like 2 many DJ's ? soulwax kind of stuff ?
  7. I used to rec0ord everything i did on my decks to minidisk at one point, then at school the next day id go through it and edit and chop out the bits. it would help me alot find mistakes, things i could improve. It all stopped when my recorder broke. I dont thik i have owned anything that will record in a reasonable quality since.
  8. When I was realy young I remember seeing things like rockit and coldcut - timber on things like top of the pops and that show on saturday morning - the chart show. but i never really paid any attention to it. it kind of passed me by. It wasnt untill i was flicking through the old sky box, the one where you had top memorise the channel numbers (sky 1 was 8, movies was 16 and 18 etc) and i stumbled on MTV. I never used to watch it unless beavis and butthead was on. I was much more interested in watching WWF and nickelodeon back then (Pete and Pete FTW!) anyway, it was a program called "Superstar DJ" Id love to see it again becasue it had some awesome clips in it and was actually quite informative, the complete opposite of whats you find now. I remember just being glued to it. I diodnt even like hip hop back then. I had to wait about 2 years after seeing that to actually ever touch a set of turntables though.
  9. I think this will see a huge increase of sales for the artists. By the time the songs were actually released, I was so sick of hearing them on hte radio.
  10. i had jean michelle jarre, vangellis, paul simon. then my dad had the midlife crisis and switched to bluegrass music. Luckily it was the same time i got a walkman
  11. ok... please correct me if im wrong, im not sure I completely get this... so it should be possible (however dumb it may seem) to scratch something up, loop it, double it up on both tables then juggle it all up, then loop the juggle (leaving you with a loop of your juggle of your looped scratch) all on the fly ?
  12. This will fail so badly... Who decides what is a sex site and what is not ?
  13. Really strange... I normally get about 19.5 - 20.5 on the download. I think its just peak time or im being throttled for too much downlaoding Ill try again later
  14. got ored so bought a ps3 with GT5
  15. I got to level 11 then i have practically given up. I cant stand this game . single player I got to the second level and got bored. The multiplayer just seems really boring compared to the last games. It suffers really badly from server lag. Either that or my gun fires blanks... and i am really tired of being shot up from behind!!! I dont think it looks as nice as the last game either (Xbox).
  16. egh... pet peeve... they arent trials bikes! more like trail bikes or urban trick bikes
  17. Cool cheers might take a look! I love me some serious sam!
  18. Tape/CD/album/whatever you ever ever bought: cotton eye joe (parents cash) - Oasis - whats the story morning glory on tape (my own money) Song that made you think "hip hop is for me": jayou and talking all that jazz (essential selection 1998 from ministry of sound of all places) Song that convinced you hip hop is dead: Its close to Jkwon - typsy and Akon - locked up, but when i hear them now compared to modern music I actually quite like them Piece of DJ gear you bought: Gemini XL-500 mk II
  19. after reading up about it, i think that it was written so that it would keep propogating undetected (as as best as it could) then when it found a system that had exactly teh right layout and controil protocals, then it would enact and deliver its payload. I think they said it was designed to remove safety procedures while telling the rest of the system that everything was all ok, while trying to start a meltdown. I guess its just really difficult to find out exactly what the target is using and trying to write a virus specifically< to look for these settings and then have it delivered to machines that are more often than not connected to a network in any way,
  20. The only problem with the stuxnet bot was that it needed the exact manufaturer settings and knowledge how it works. I think the energy and resourses needed to get that information and not get caugt is waaay more than paying a few mercenaries a couple of quid and letting them do the same job with better results. Thinking about it I think this whole cyber warefare is only any good at wrecking economies, but we are already doing a good enough job as it is.
  21. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3pKF6gREFw&feature=player_embedded#! This could be quite good fun if it takes off! A mixture of geocashing and file sharing
