  1. more importantly, do you log in on the left or the right one?
  2. good lookin out guys, yeeah it's gonna be multi tracking, ableton live and see where it goes from there. with the dual boot, i'd really like to have it all running on the same boot, so i could just be chilling on msn, suddenly feel like a quick scratch or beat sesh and just do it without faffin. what caches would i have to empty to keep it running sexy?
  3. this still available for dooooooonload anwhere?
  4. pci? rme? may as well try and learn all these terms, looks like i'm gonna be coming across them a fair bit. i'd well bum it if you guys could like break down what these bits with crazy code names do and shit when you post about them, twould sortin me out.
  5. i have no idea what I/O is, but yes i am going to definitely need a lot not too bothered about portability, this just gonna be me bedroom pc/music station edit: is that input/output? in which case i'd say decks, couple of mics, geetars. on output just planning on running it all through me hifi until i manage to wang some monitors. as i get more into it i'll probably be getting more shit, so like to be leaving some leg room.
  6. do i want an ide harddrive? which are reputable manufacters (sp?) for all this different bits? this is so confusing! i'm not gonna have the money until near chrimbo, but thought i may as well find out what i'm gonna need and shit. is using a generic brand allright? how about getting a dell and just wangin a nice soundcard in it?
  7. skratchworx reckons its selling for a grand. eesh
  8. so if i say my budgets around 600-700, how much should i be prepared to spend on each individual item, the soundcard being the exception.
  9. one thing i love about dv, fookin quick replies! nice one guys, this is useful shit, can anyone recommend some sites so i can start to check out prices and shit? motherboards, everything gets plugged into this and makes it go? well certain things, such as ram and hardrive and whatever only run on a certain type of motherboard?
  10. Now then guys, seems quite a few of you on here know what you're doing when it comes to computers. i have a bit of knowledge, but nowt particularly bangin. been wanting to build my own pc for a while, the primary use would be music shit, but also be using the web and some other basic apps. basically, what do i need?! and for something of an alrite standard, how much should i be saying is my estimate for expenditure, i was hoping about 700ish, i'm not bothered about having flat screen moniters and fancy keyboards and cases what sound cards should i be looking out for? realise a big hard drive would also be very nessecary as well, but as to how much ram and shit i'd need to keep everything powered i'm a bit clueless. sorry if this is a bit open, any help whatsoever would be appreciated. peace!

  13. eyy this makes me happy. might this be the very same trigger finger soon to be in my loving hands?
  14. to be fair if it wasn't for the brum council thing i'd place large moneys on fabric
  15. phwomph thats quite a line up. held in brum perhaps? one of the sponsors is birmingham city council.
  16. not too much on body tricks, no-ones really pointed out the fact that we're stuck behind a table and decks. much the same way as the drummer in a band doesn't interact with the crowd much. the best dj's i've seen for crowd interaction were yoda, who actually physically interacted very little, but just kept vibing off the crowd. cut chemist was the other one, but this was partly because of the fact he was wearing his turntable and could walk freely around the stage whilst scratching. another thing is scratching is pretty fuckin technical nowadays, and if i wanted to perform to a pretty good standard live, i'd usually need to zone out, which ain't a good state for crowd interaction. just my 2p
  17. bum this man! very funky cutting, really flows with the loop
  18. saw em live at leeds man, quality live show, everyone was havin a rye boogie
  19. falls bang on wage earning time, any play it later shit gonna be available?

  21. arite guys, if anyones north york area, the x ecutioners are playing at fibbers in york on the 25th september, theres a bit more info here: http://www.fibbers.co.uk/scripts/gig.cfm?gig_id=7245 you can get tickets off that site, and get a joint one if you fancy seeing fingathing as well about 5 days after, it's a bit cheaper than buying two seperate ones. and before anyone says owt, i've got dibbs on them coming back to mine for a scratch peace!
  22. personally i dig mmm's production and scratching a lot. the thing that makes mmm for me is his originality in style in a blindfold test or whatever of the top however many dj's, how many differenty styles couuld you recognise? mmm's would be the easiest to spot.
  23. does that mean just plug in a power cord with a uk plug socket and you're done?
