  1. can anyone recommend a uk website to buy mp3 players? (hardware players like zen, iriver etc) cheers
  2. hi, i'm sideshow not been scratching many months i'm shit at introductions too
  3. excellent cover, very professional proper bo!
  4. i'll take a look and see if it might be easier in this thanks mate
  5. is it easy to trigger the samples in flash? can you do much real coding behind the scenes?
  6. 'dumptruck of cash' - bastard! i'll let you know as i have something to look at and see what you reckon did you do the flash loopers?
  7. here's the breezeblock link mix is in quite a few parts http://www.brainkiller.it/prodigy/news/breezeblock.php
  8. same here, i'll let you know ever done any wave manipulation etc?
  9. prodigy did a good breezeblock mix on radio1 he threw in a bit of scratching too some classic old skool tracks in it i'll look for the link i especially liked where he has the ultramagnetic mc's on both decks and he breaks it down just to make it blatantly obvious where the sample for 'smack my bitch up' came from
  10. yep, you're spot on there sig i haven't added it yet, but each scratch will have a property for which direction it finishes ie, a scratch which starts in the forward direction like a forward baby could never happen directly after a scratch which ended in the forward direction, like a forward flare it won't be difficult to do that, i just haven't done it yet also there is an option where some types of scratches are preferred to be repeated a little, like chirps - so it is more likely to do 2 or 3 in a row (or more) than just a single the skill level etc will be all user selectable so i think you'll be able to get it to do whatever you want as i make progress i'll let you know to see what you think and the 3 tempo's is a good idea, i'd just need all the scratch samples at the 3 tempos, no biggie
  11. only just seen this, thanks for putting it up sig @clown - it's written in vb it is a LONG way off finished but i'll crack on with it the gutting thing is i don't get much spare time and when i've been writing this i haven't had time to practice my own scratching !! bugger! thanks for the comments, i'll keep you posted as i get chance to do more this is why i was asking about tutorials earlier i expect i'll need some help when it comes to doing more varied scratches, they all need to be recorded at the same tempo etc

    Chevrons

on the main forums page, if there are new posts in any section, then the 2 chevrons at the left of the section name are animated if you do a mouseover then the tooltip says 'new post' but if you click it, it sends you back to the portal page and clears the 'new posts' status when you return is it meant to do that? i thought it would take me to the forum like if you click the title maybe that is what it's meant for
  13. don't get too excited, maybe i built it up a bit too much! it may only be useful to newbies like me who struggle getting any kind of combo going, instead of chirpy chirpy chirpy chirpy chirpy ... etc!
  14. i agree with what you're saying, i was thinking it may bring more vistors to your site that was all i was actually going to ask over at sos if they'd be interested in putting my prog on their tutorial section if you guys weren't bothered i'll still sort a file out to see what you think though
  15. not a problem mate, it's understandable i'll mail you something later sigma, cheers
  16. fair enough, i'll stick it on yousendit later to see what you think
  17. did i read that you can upload files to this new board? if you can i'll upload one of it's combos to see what you think
  18. it is to do with combo's actually have you seen that asisphonics combo generator? in theory sounds ok but you just get a list of baby, flare, chirp - didn't do much for me so i sampled myself doing the scratches i could do, then the program loads up these scratches (all at the same bpm) and generates a combo that it can playback as a wave file with a beat on top you tell it if you prefer chirps and flares to transforms and it weights the result to suit it is still only half working but the resulting bars sounded great - miles better than i thought they would (the fucker can scratch better than me!!!) it could even be used for you more experienced guys as a kind of automated q & a thing (i know you don't have any real friends!) let it make up a pattern for several bars and then you do your thing, and so on
  19. Have you guys thought of putting a scratch tutorial or anything on your site? I know lots of other sites do it but I'm just curious, I'm working on a little program to help newbies (like me) and it may be of use in time
  20. Shit, i just read my post above, looks like a bloomin advert! I also read good things about Rane serato scratch. It seems like it is a lot better than final scratch, they have a good forum like stanton used to, just damn expensive!
  21. You might want to check out DJDecks software http://www.djdecks.be/finalscratch/ It is a $30 prog that does the same as final scratch The only difference is, it uses any ASIO soundcard instead of the USB one that comes with final scratch I've used it and it is excellent, but I haven't used FS so I can't offer any comparison The good thing is that you can try it for yourself without spending loads The software runs in demo mode, you just need to get some final scratch vinyls which are about £25 i think Depends if you have a good soundcard really as that is where the expense comes into it if you need a new one The biggest plus is the guy who writes it is constantly adding new features etc
