  1. sup flipflop decent scratching...good use of crab sum of it was out of time but not to worry to much bout it.....pretty damn good..just get a better beat next time lol
  2. (the file i listened to was pretty broken up..like jumpy..dunno if its my pc or the recoding) i think the timing is great and the techniques played where good. but there was a few too many ahhh in it (at the end of a scratch when u let go of the record) also the timing was kinda stale??? by that i mean it would start on the first beat of the bar..and end on the 4th (of the same bar or another) with no pauses. by adding these i reckon it would sound less predictable and more creative. but all in all a good clip with good scratchin going on (not at all sloppy)
  3. yeh ive been using my parents pc and been recording that way but if i was gonna have a good set up i was thinin that rca inputs would be best. or is that a waste of money. i would also like to set up my guitar to it..and possibly my bro's keyboard (which is also midi) talking bout guitars..im just learning, after many years of playing metallica and greenday, classical music.....its a bummer..i can read the music (and using a pick play it) but tryin to use there finger style is beyond hard....oh wel keep on practising and it will come..then on to blues..woo hoo. on another point i got told when playin a guitar go into your local music shop and listen to a heavy metal guitarist. yuo will notice that they play very fast and continuous..but do you every hear a pause or a gap. its very technical but not very pleasing to listen to. go and listen to a blues guitarist (ie robert johnson) and he plays nowhere as fast or as may notes...but the way he pauses and leaves gaps at exactly the right time in phonominal. i reckon that is the same when scratching..its not always what you play..but sumtimes what you dont

    cd's

just wondering..right (very hard thing at the moment) about sum of you making mixtapes. i know dub-7 is tight on the ole decks and wouldnt mind some of his mix tapes. and im reckoning i'd like to hear others too. so would it be possible for ppl to give a whole mix album out to whoever wants it. i was thinking about if sum1 can upload..then others download, but it could possibly be hard for ppl on 56k. so i was then thnkin of puttin it onto cd.. but then again i wouldnt want sum1 giving away a new mix tape out every week when they aint good enough for ppl to listen to it repeatedly (is a waste of money for the person giving it out if sum1 is gonna listen to it for 10mins find it awful and chuck it..thats where uploading will come in handy). but i was wondering if when ppl was proud of what they had done put a snippet on the pc and if ppl liked it would ask for a copy (for a price just to cover the expenses????) this way others would hear your work and it would also be a cheap form of music to listen to (and in most cases better than albums you could buy in hmv). i would be willing to give out say 10-15 cd's for no charge to others (only when i am happy abot the mix) as long as they give feedback. what do others think????? ps..where r u all from??? anyone living near grimsby who would want to hook up sumtime for a couple of mixes
  5. true kakarot...tis great seeing friendly cyber faces again. ive been on a few different boards since stanton but none as good (dmcworld is suprisngly lame) i reckon this one will take off big time well i reckon i have found the reason i have a lame arm. i was lookin at the way i scratch and i noticed that my arm seems to be always cramped up with my arm being bout 100mm above my elbow. im reckoning this is stopppin the flow of blood or somthing. unfortunately i cant make my stand any smaller as its kinda stuck rigid (+plus my tv and vinyl just fit underneath) so ive got 2 solutions.... a)wear stiletoes b)stand on a box i think the box wins..just (although on weekends its a totally different story) but i was gonna make it so i could fit sum of my dj gear in as well like spare needles, brushes, vinyl cleaner etc cos i keep on losing everything. thanx for the help lads..u should never have to hear me moan about it again
  6. well im using dance ejay at the moment im tryin to find a place to get cubase but no look so far. well ive just upgraded my pc so hopefully things will be able to run on it smoothly (when i get the damn thing) but i need a soundcard which i can plug my decks into....any1 point me in the right direction????
  7. ooh good another one who enjoys listening to vengaboys. although they sound like simpletons you have to look into their music to get the real msg..
  8. for breakbeats i use city16.com although they havent had any new stuff in recently. and www.3beat.co.uk which is they better of the 2. but make sure you ask to have whatever you deliver posted at the same time. if not they send them as they get hold of them..which can b pretty expensive (£2 p&p a time). i have used http://www.quadrastate.co.uk/ which have been great as well. oh yeah and get adam freeland fabric live album and james lavelle on global underground (although most of it is his work (unkle) or meat katie's its still very good)
  9. no i dont...cmon reveal urslef haha dont need to..after exstensive research..tapping of phones etc (and looking at ur soulseek user name) i now know... aight kakarot howz it going
  10. what u mean "that" thread...hell i cant even remember and i posted it i miss slaggin off birdy.
  11. another family game...incest
  12. i find instrumentals the best though...these scratch records have too much of an 80's electro thing going on
  13. hmmm different ..will give it a go, cheers for the tip
  14. kper what sort of dnb u play...i like the downtempo sort of stuff (v:recordings) i enjoy listening to blues a lot (robert johnson, bb king, hendrix) ive gone off metal but still like rage. i hate listening to hard house, which a few years back i couldnt get enough..it bores now.. very repetitive and tuneless (sound like my old man)
  15. i hate big production type of cd's where you can tell its all been mixed on the pc (gatecrasher and bonkers come to mind) there still needs to be a live feel to it. but editing is also a great idea..cant wait to get my new pc so i can start making my own cd's. + with using pc's etc you can add effects and vocal which you cant find on vinyl to make it that more better (thinkin in terms of intros etc)
  16. great...what a way to celebrate my b/day...chillin listenin to them..wicked. got their album badmeaninggood which has sum dope songs on it. top act
  17. i need a new phone...mines too old..what ya think of it???

    URGENT HELP NEEDED

try using ad-aware by lava soft. this helps remove a lot of spyware, dialler etc. also cwsredder for explorer hijacking removal. i also use avg for a free anti virus (and removal of diallers). diallers only work with dial modems (like 56k) if you have broadband dont worry.
  20. yeh its the muscles like...yeh i go a bit too stupid when using my wrist. good to be back dub. i aint as bad as i do rest it more. well my scratchin is gettin better...still aint got scratchin in beat properly but it is gettin better.
  21. just wondering if any1 else get a pain in there arm (startin from their elbow to the hand) when scratchin for too long. when practising just about every day after a mnth or so it starts to niggle then becomes very painful. my decks are approx the heigh on my lowest rib. and i do move the fader a lot (which i think contributes to it mostly..seems i move the fader even when i dont need to). but its startin to p1ss me off now.... :48_48:
  22. i play the guitar...aint been on it for a while but am starting to learn classical and blues. i am gonna start playin the keyboard as well. i also play the spoons and once played the marraccas (badly) at school. im trying to learn theory of music as well which should help me in djin and song production. ive got all these ideas but im too lazy to try any
