  1. yeh steve great idea in principle but i very much doubt they would remove the part of the council tax on refuse waste. It will be on top. I try and recycle as much as possible. I dont buy tetra packaging as it isnt recycled around me, shopping bags are reused etc. I go through 1 shopping bag of waste every 2wks normally (although i do live on my own)
  2. i havent had a problem with d/l with ntl at all. maybe its worth turning off and unplugging your box for 10mins. or possibly assign a new IP address (but im not sure if this one will help
  3. right if you are using IE do to tools..internet options..connections..lan settings and untick "use proxy server.." Im not sure how to do it in other browsers as this is all im allowed at work, but it will be on the same lines. If these are already unticked its then something to do with your ISP (using a shared proxy allows one person to d/l and everyone else will have to wait) if so then you will have to use a different proxy (find one on web somewhere)

  9. found this website that uses a different method to find music via google and also allows you to use good as a proxy http://www.dwire.org/google-search-tools/
  10. im sure its one of the best gifts for a kid to get. wasnt it in the concentration camps where one of the rations given was lipstick which the women wore all the time..even though they were straving they still wanted to look good. They knew what they were going through and that little bit of makeup brought a tiny bit of normal life back to them. Its the same with the kids going through all that shit and with playstations they are able to forget about he attrocities of war and do something normal for a little while
  11. yeh its like dixons..they tried to sell me a £27 warranty for a £30 product. steve take the discs back and demand your money back. The product is not fit for purpose and therefore you are entitled to the money back or an exchange (and its money not vouchers) even if you have opened it up
  12. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/4790293.stm just think twice where its going
  13. yeh ive got a kp2 and you can get some great effects..but trying to recreate the same pattern is very hard (plus if you turn it off you loose all your presets)
  14. i doubt they will look for new mateials..it all comes down to production costs and vinyl is expensive to produce compared to cds and mp3 d/l

  18. yeh the the current concersion rate of 0.524220
  19. i had a look at that steve and if its below £18 then you dont pay VAT or if its below £32 and is a gift of anysort..anything above it you will pay VAT ..i think a few slip through now and again but you are likely to pay tax on it
  20. just to let everyone know that anything imported to the uk will incur a VAT charge (17.5% of price including shipping and insurance) so say something like the empath costs 780usd add 100usd to that for shipping and insurance (this may be a bit out but xander will put me straight) 880usd = 461gbp approx (using xe.com) + 17.5% = 542GBP (compared to 725 from most other places) Ive used xander for a cd deck and, like many others, had no problems at all xander..if you could find out how much shipping+ insurance would cost for the empath please (my birthdays coming up in a few weeks so i can finally afford one)
