Just unplugged my decks and on one of them i grabbed the plug..both prongs touched my hand and gave me a bolt (got 2 little marks where it went through lol). Just wondered if anyone has come across this b4. i changed the power lead a while back but if it was faulty it would more than likely create a short rather than a capacatence effect....any ideas??

heres the equations to work out how much shift you need Record1 = a Record2 = b (b-a)/a *100 so if you had record1 at 80bpm and record 2 at 75bpm (70-80)/80*100 = -6.25% so if record a was already at +4% you would have to move record b pitch down to -2.25%

much better way of doing it than any tuners etc..anyway if you have a "tuned" musical ear then thats much better than most of the audience...ive seen mash up totally out of tune but the crowd loved it because they knew both songs

well my mate and his lass has got engaged and they want me to dj there. theres me another lad and a band. im hoping to use their pa (going throught their mixer) which should sort the sound system out. As its a mates+ their family do im wanted to put a few classics on 1st (bowie beatles, mj etc) then let the band go on..afterwards put a few new indie songs on (fratellis, artic monkeys etc) until 2130-2200 ish..hopefully the young and old would have gone by then and rest of the night would be spent mixing dance music. Im thining of having a few practices and putting my vinyl in order to what i want to play. Is there any tips or anything i could do better (ie different music for the young/old generation) with regards to the dance music i want it funky house into nuskool breaks/house but not go too dark and keep it with vocals etc so the lasses dont get bored

the way i do it in soundforge is place a marker evry part i want the new track to start (plus one at begining and one at end) (special/insert marker) then from there i change the markers into regions (special/regions list/markers to regions) then from there save them as individual tracks (tools/extract region)

but i love the "didnt know it was there" line...how the hell could you not realise

i use ahhs a lot because a) my only "scratch" vinyl is dj yoda cut and paste and b) its a nice constant tone so i can hear exactly what im doing with the vinyl. When i get better i will definately move onto samples, and when i do id rather pick something which i havent heard any1 else do. But at the moment im trying to copy others just to learn

grounding=earthing maybe check the vol levels on the pc. Check you connections on the needle. If its only coming out of one speaker swap the cables around..does that make a difference??

The increase in vinyl sales is more than likely due to the "new wave indie/rock" scene (raconteurs, killers etc) where they are bringing out ltd ed picture discs on 7". Many of these bands are with small time labels and can practicably bring out these. whereas large corporations find that it costs too much money to justify.

about half as good as the dabs one only has 512mb ram and 40gb harddrive

looks nice..but thats about it..nothing which will make it any more practical or allow you to do anything different..just an expensive gimmick.
