  1. So, did RSI re-record the drums? Instead of just sampling/arranging?
  2. GLK killed that break on Meat Guilt
  3. Yeah man, they're great for the price. Good bass and don't sound tinny, or anything like that. Decent headphones.
  4. I always get these Sony ones, they're cheap and sound great. No need spending loads of hard earned cash! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/331791162796?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&var=540892742723&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  5. Fine then........I'll be the guy who finally posts this..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KqeKikpLQ5o
  6. Not that I noticed, but.........now you mention it..
  7. True story - I know Roger Daltrey's son, Jamie.
  8. Hmmm.......actually......let me double check Yeah it is a veneer. Those photos I took don't do them justice, apart from the obvious scratches they're in really good condition. I suppose now I have the dilemma of "...do I reapply new veneer myself?"
  9. This guy is selling a pair similar to mine, in fact his seem in worse condition - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BBC-Chartwell-LS3-5a-Monitor-Speakers-/322106029161?hash=item4aff03f469:g:394AAOSw1KxXNDcC However, I seem to remember that the Chartwell version being a rarer model
  10. Hmmm.......actually......let me double check
  11. To be honest, I'd rather get money for them. I'm hoping to use the money to pay off my overdraft (if I can get a decent price for them). I would totally keep them otherwise
  12. Just had a Google and found this guy, who actually is not far from my flat! - http://www.wembleyloudspeaker.com/page-products-repair.shtml If he can restore the cabinets at a reasonable price I'd rather do that than fuck it up myself! I took some pictures of the speakers - http://imgur.com/a/h6fM8/all I'm not sure exactly on the specs or even what type of wood it is, and they don't have the Rogers badge on the front.
  13. It's a great record, Make It With You has some nice vibes as well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24tFn3sFP6A
  14. an obvious one, but still dope 0:55 for break
  15. Fuck i need that album! And yeah, that Bang on a Drum one is dope
  16. Good call. Might be difficult to find some wood matching the cabinets, but I'll keep my eyes open.
  17. I started a thread last year about some vintage speakers I got free from work - http://www.digitalvertigo.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=38129&hl=rogers I'm now in the process of wanting to sell them. They work ok (had our sound engineer test them) but they are scratched to shit. I've been searching online for tips about how to restore speaker cabinets, the general vibe seems to be buy some Howard's Restore-A-Finish and some fine steel wool - sand it down and varnish. But I'm worried that if I fuck it up it will devalue the speakers, and leave them looking all fucked up. Would it be best to just sell them as is, and mention that they would need some restoring? Or give it a go and hope they turn out ok?
  18. I remember losing my shit when I found this break, after spending one sweaty summers day digging it was worth it. This is why I still buy any pre-school/nursery rhyme/themed records Famously sampled for UNKLE - Lonely Soul Plus the rest of the album is dope, loads for sampling.
  19. This is totally me. I go through phases of having a great idea for a new project, set it all up, work on a few loops.....and then it'll sit there for months/years not doing anything. I have tracklists ready for about 3 or 4 mixtapes just waiting to be thrown together. I think that's why I like our Beat Battles so much, the deadlines really help get shit done!
  20. In my teens it was everyday, obsessively. I do miss those years when I was most productive - but I was also smoking a lot of weed. These days I'm lucky if I can be bothered once a week, if that. But that's mainly down to getting into other things. I read a lot more, and getting back into screenwriting, I watch a crazy amount of films everyday (part of my job). Music has become a hobby but I kinda prefer it that way. It's refreshing to make a beat, or have a cut.
  21. Yeah man, if there's one thing I would like to happen in my lifetime, it's to go into space. Hopefully I will be able to afford it! http://www.blastr.com/2016-5-10/virgin-galactic-has-created-commercial-promo-its-human-flight-satellite-launch-programs
