  1. Hey thanks for listening my dudes!

    @Steve

    Glad to hear that, it's all good. Understandable, the chops could be seen as a bit repetitive.  I think that's the sort of track that would really shine with an MC.

    @Jhouse

    Hope you like the rest of the tape too!

  2. Hey what's up Digital Vertigo!

    Haven't posted here in a while, hope you're doing well.  Got a new tape for you.

    I was planning on sending this to all my favourite DJ's and underground hip hop labels and I thought why not post it for people to hear.

    I'd like to say, this is not a finished project, this is just a few tracks to show range. All produced on the MPC 1000, SP-505 and sampled from vinyl records.

    Hope you like what you hear!

    Sure from a hiphop perspective a loop with a beat on top of it will do however hiphop and house are mostly about the sound of the beat, so i would change that kick to something more pleasurable to the ear, something a club would also play. consider that when officially releasing this project.

    Well recently made a track with an RD6 drummachine, i'm selling it currently hehe

    Hmmm I like having a gritty hip hop kick in house, I think it fits the style I'm going for.  Thanks for the feedback though.

    Here's another one, hope you guys like this track, it has more progression than the previous one I posted

  4. Cheers my dudes, thanks for the honest feedback.

    I would've liked to build this particular song up more but like I said, these are made from a hip hop perspective.  Like just a main loop and a few layers on top.  A few of the other songs have some more changes in there though, so I think you guys will enjoy hearing them.

    When I was sequencing this project, I had a really tough time trying to balance a dance audience vs a listening audience.  The side of me that wanted to cater to DJ's said make every track longer for the dance floor.  When I thought about listeners, especially listeners not used to loop based music, I always wanted to get right to the point and fade the song out.

    So I think in some ways, some of these tracks make more sense in a party setting.  Just wanted to mention that most of these tracks are from a while back, my newer house tracks have a lot more going on.  I want to start making different song structures, especially in this genre, would be great to be able to make more changes to keep things interesting.

  5. Hey what's up Digital Vertigo Forums?

    I announced this project a while back, but had a few setbacks waiting on it to be mixed.  Happy to announce that my House project Make Your Body Sing will be ready on July 21st on Bandcamp and streaming websites.  I would usually include one house beat on each tape of mine but I realized it would make more sense to just compile all those tracks into one project.  I would describe it as House music produced with the quality and care of sample based Hip Hop.

    Especially excited for this particular forum to hear it because you guys always understand what I'm trying to communicate!

  6. whats up my man, i finally got a moment to listen to this. a lot of great textures and vibes in here and a lot of grimey drum loops. some great resources, in particular I really liked the organic bass loops. there's certain riffs here that you can't achieve from just sampling 1 bass note, if I'm able to fit these into some new production i'll let you know

    thanks for sharing this!

    damn, i wish i had this a few months ago.  I did a nautilus mix on twitch the other month.  I got snuck in a few flips that other people did along with other songs that sampled nautilus.  This one you did would have fit in perfect.  oh well, still sounds dope. nice one.

    damn man! would've been great to contribute to your mix, thanks for listening

    Nice beat man! Didn't we do a DV battle with this record?

    Thanks ! I've never participated in a battle on DV but it's good to know about

    I started on a beat for this battle but didn't have time to finish it due to work commitments.... I will probably finish it at some indeterminate time in the future...

    Cool, would be awesome to hear it

  8. I usually don't like to sample those songs that have been flipped a bunch of times, but ended up entering a beat battle where nautilus was the sample and 9th wonder the judge. Turned out decent after 1 attempt, was gonna make something uptempo but the chop sounded much better as hip hop.

    Anyone else compete in this battle? feel free to post your entry here

  9. What's up Digital Vertigo?

    Been a while since I posted something here. I don't really participate much in online battles but I have recently and got a few beats for you to hear.

    I like to include a few different flips in each track, they're super abbreviated for now but in the future I plan on elaborating on them and including them on a tape.  It's Hip Hop, House & R&B. Hope you like what you hear!
