Very cool. Great for sub basses. If you send the microkorg's signal through effects modules you can get sick results. The vocoder is very cool too, but you need a good mic.

The Rodec scratchbox is going to be viewable at the Pro Light and Sound Musikmesse in Frankfurt this april. I told Gizmo about it and he's going to take some pics so everybody can check out the new prototype. The curve adjustement (to me personally) is groundbreaking! It's digital (and VCA) and has software (fuzzy logic) that is used in cars, airplanes. It is so detailed that you'd probably have to get used to the precision of it. It has a 3rd channel with a 2 band eq and gain which can be used as an effects input as well. The cool thing is that the 3rd channel can also be assigned to either channel 1 or 2, or can be a used as a stand alone line input channel, it can be assigned with the assign switch right below the 3rd input channel. *EDIT* The 3rd channel can be prelistened to seperately or in the mix with the other 2 channels in your headphones. You can select channel 1 & 2 or 3 seperately or select all 3 channels together. PFL selector switches at the headphones booth and 3rd channel make this possible. The thing I like about this mixer is the fact that it will still have the feel of a 2 channel mixer while it has many inputs. Effects inserts have been added to the back panel and there's a vertical wet/dry fader right between the 2 balance faders. I asked them to make it possible to put in all kinds of different faders. Multiple faders will be available to "try" to please the majority of "whiners" ...oops dj's. The cool thing is ...it supports both systems, VCA and Digital. I won't start about the sound ...superb!! I'd get any RODEC just for the sound quality, the best eq's in the business!! I produce too and sound, output levels and eq's are very important to me. About the looks, well, who really cares as long as it works, sounds great and lasts forever ... I personally think it looks cool! I don't buy a piece of equipment just because it looks "COOL" ...it has to work and do its job.
