  1. Have you seen this guy? This is also awesome
  2. You know that there are people making cd drives emulators for consoles like sega etc: GDEMU - from Poland, and I think RHEA / PHOEBE This is so frustrating knowing it can be done. Now when Rane Twelve (if its not a fake) is coming out we have the best tool in our hands but have to deal with shitty laser I still dig thru the web to find the simplest solution - alternative for the kss213 maybe - something attached to the vinyl encoder to emulate control signal from serato - that would be nice for me etc - making it a standalone mp3 player with some screen like this cdj mod would be tha bomb https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzPkP1C88oQ I know this is a bit different but look at this guy: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvOPtrseUvGzb9ut8ZvWFqg/videos
  3. Hmm. I wonder if we could sniff the firmware as it's being updated or something. Any ideas how can we help? Decode the firmware that's in wav format maybe? or anything else?
  4. Guys, the IC101 is locked, no way to dump it... ;/
  5. as if he was such a service manual for cdx it was by the end of the work. Borys meant - "If we would have this type of manual for cdx - we would end the mod in one week." I have trouble in encrypting his english - I can't even imagine - how much do others have to struggle...
  6. Also... Borys had an idea of checking if its possible to input some firmware or maybe modified hardware to match hdx firmware I wanted to buy some old hdx but couldn't get my hands on any.. borys would then compare both firmwares and look for a difference. Cdx board has some inputs for - memory card and usb socket - we tried that way (added some components but it would not read data from this input) - it not used by the firmware or sometihg
  7. Hehe I just need to stop swapping shitty cd units in cdx every few days I figured out why the platter has too big wow & flutter - old grease hardened - I made a video about that. Now we need to make it mp3 compatible - for me - I just need to put a serato timecode signal in it - to controll the pitch and platter that's it
  8. ok, what do You need to analyze it - we will provide, and where do You need us to connect to cdx to measure the values? also why does this forum don't send notifications about new answer to a thread. I have set everyghin in my profile correctly cheers
  9. No problem, I'am not doing it, Its my friend Borys, we try to resurect this player for long time.. He works in a lab, repairing all electronical stuff, from gadgets thru apple products till military and medical equipment. So like I sait it should be done tomorrow. Hoping to give cdx second life
  10. We're on it, probably tomorrow till noon, you'll have it.
  11. Hi tell me please which chip to read and with what, and we will do it in no time, we have the tools, cheers
  12. Hi there, I'm a cdx lover user for quite some time now. With some friends we tried to mod this player for couple of years. Trying to improve, or get rid of the platter fluctuation.. -easy mechanical fix shown here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P7Aiet-T-Vs&t=5s I own 5 pairs *(I think) of cdx and are happy to help with any tests or modifications. We tried to make the cdx work as a serato dj controller, making the platter scratch encoder work for mp3 play to work with serato timecode.. It would cut off the use of display and some functions of the cdx only left witk working platter, pitch, and play stop buttons Now seen this thread - this is what we wanted to achieve but due to less and less free time.. we spent 3 years debating about it and nothing worth came out of it. So we would like to contribute. My friends also have some big electronic knowledge, and have some "laboratory" equipment to use for this project. Not to say some over the average skills in electronics. Waiting for some good news Cheers
