Couldnt tell you either way, mine was connected straight to my PC prior to using it and never had that issue. It's a shame I would be gutted as getting a new mixer that didn't work especially as I scratch hamster style.

This is just for bedroom DJ mixing purposes I probably should add. Doesn't have to be too loud just enough to feel the bass. I assume these both connect direct to my mixer with no amp either?

Perhaps so, which confuses me as my z2 is only 2 months old so shouldn't that have the newer fader in too by that logic? I guess it could have been be old stock? Anyway alls well that ends well 😄

FYI NI have agreed to send a replacement crossfader out. They did initially suggest I send the mixer to them but I politely pointed out to them that I was aware I the crossfader issues and all sorted. Not a bad service at all let's hope the new fader is up to it. To be fair the old fader has been fine since though it only seems to play up after heavy use.

Result, I messaged back and advised that I was aware that the crossfader has a known fault and didnt see the point in returning the mixer, so they are sending out a new crossfader. How will I know the replacement crossfader is the newer version any ideas?

Got a response they want me to send off the whole mixer?! No mention of just sending me a new fader.

My fader is now not working 100% do I approach audio innovate or native instruments? Only had z2 a couple of months and it's bleeding sound through when using vinyl not the time code. Turning off and on again did fix. Did not recalibrate as PC wasn't even on. To find out the version you can right click on the NI icon when in Traktor and it brings up the about information. Not sure what mine is till I get home and check. Will let you all know of my progress on this.

Interesting. I had an old traktor scratch duo audio 4 set up but switched to a z2 recently. The z2 performs far better, but I use MP3 mostly. What's the difference with wav files I assume the sound quality is better? I've read this somewhere before about this but never really felt the need to explore it

Not that I recommend this but I wanted to buy an ecler hak 380. Bought it only to then get a email advising no stock. I deliberated and chose the z2. A bit cheeky but I asked if I could just get the z2 for the price of the ecler which was a bargain in itself at £400, rather than mess around cancelling and repurchasing. Luckily for me they said yes :-)

Do it you won't regret. I got one in May everything works as it should do. Bargain in my eyes. If you are buying in the UK I got mine at £400 though I got a little lucky with the price!

Oh and Felix Zenger who Beatboxes and is world footbag (google it) champ. Where as I am just a slightly above average DJ at best.... Ah well!

Yep Vahtang, Beardyman and Tom Thum are the only ones I have found that have these unique blend of skill sets. Tom Thum also Breakdances and does killer graffiti too!

I am assuming my mixer has the new fader and will be ok? I have previously owned an ecler and actually think I prefer the fader on the z2!

Got my Z2 about 1 month ago and no issues fader behaves fine for me so far I'm only averaging 5 hrs a week usage though

Thanks I downloaded but you are correct currently not supported on iPhone. Like you say Mutis the DJ Player app is very similar and free but hey ho. May be they will update it in the future.

Has anyone tried this out yet? What's the general consensus? It's only £1.49 so may as well give it a try think I can scrape it together.

Was having a think about how technology may advance and could be used to enhance tools for DJing. One idea/thought I had, does something exist where the touch screen of a phone could be used as an add on via an app, which enable the phone to act as a cross fader? I don't mean for simple cuts so much, but for crab/twiddling type scratching. No dragging across the screen just a simple on/off when you touch the screen for quick cuts? Seems achievable in my head and could be quite fun?
