  1. Been wanting this done for a while ..it's the cover image from Bob James' 'One' album. Finally got it inked on my upper left arm a few days ago. It took around 4 hours to complete.

  3. There was this article a couple of years ago talking about how the dude was behaving. https://www.sickchirpse.com/tim-westwood-student-sex-stories/
  4. That's a pretty impressive list @djdiggla Love the fact you got to see Bo Diddley live, that's really neat . Please tell me these 3 below were all on the same bill though hehe...:-) Nine Inch Nails, Neil Diamond, DJ Nu-Mark
  5. No,I've never seen Public Enemy live unfortunately...plus Terminator X wouldn't really count anyway as he'd still be part of the band and not a solo performance. Suzi Q ? Hehehe...I had a huge crush on her when I was a kid as I've mentioned on here before but never saw her in concert. That crush didn't last..I left her and moved on lol but 'Can The Can' still kicks some serious ass though!...
  6. Yeah remembering is hard ...I've been to so many shows over the last 3 decades and seen loads of different genres of music. I thought I'd actually be able to complete the full list because of that tbh but evidently not !
  7. Heres mine...I've seen multiple bands/artists for most of these letters but for the purpose of this thread single entries are fine. Anthrax Beastie Boys The Cure Dead Kennedys Echo & The Bunnymen Faith No More Gong Husker Du Ice T Japan Killing Joke (x7) -The band I've seen the most over the years, last show i attended was a few weeks ago on the 29th of March. Living Colour Metallica New Order Ozric Tentacles (x4) Pink Floyd Q - Run-D.M.C. Siouxsie And The Banshees (x2) Richard Thompson Ultramarine (x2) Vice Squad The Waterboys (x2) X - ( I did meet Polly Styrene from X-Ray Spex once years ago but that doesn't count) Yes Zodiac Mindwarp & The Love Reaction (24 of 26)
  8. He disappeared up his own ass a long time ago unfortunately and over estimated his importance musically ...possibly inside the same holographic sphere, hopefully. Coupled with some pretty ridiculous comments regarding 'the rules of sampling' (according to him of course)) or how he thinks people should actually make their music and never sample from reissues only original vinyl etc put me off the dude from then onwards. It just came across as arrogant and elitist bullshit ,lots of moaning and hand wringing from a dude with an enormous unobtainable record collection basically and the type of mentality that goes with that stuff..although kind of hilarious as its also around then where Shadow really fell off big time and started producing utter garbage like The Outsider LP and everything else that followed later . .. His TV show fucking sucked too...
  9. Yeah dude ,its the man himself..same Kashmere who's worked with 2Tall previously .
  10. Well ..that's my earworm sorted for the next week and a half then ..:)

  16. Was just about to post this news. RIP. What a life lived through music though and the legacy he's left behind is spectacular. So long Scratch..a true visionary and a Jamaican legend.
  17. I'd be happy to organize another battle at some point. It's been way too long, especially my own participation in one .. probably about time we did another if peeps are up for doing them again on here.
  18. With all the samplers combined it allows up to 64 pads to be used at any given time plus the keys on the Ensoniq can be played at any pitch. I've been fucking around quite a bit recently.. just experimenting with what I can now do in a live situation as it's still the way I like to record most of all ..having the other machines to do the heavy lifting like the drum patterns and bass lines etc means I can run those samples independently and concentrate more on the arrangements. In the past I did it all with only the OG 404 mostly, but its been amazing to have all this other gear available to get creative with...just having the SP 808 up and running again has been a blast,I can do stuff dead easy or resample 4 pads at once for example. I'd forgotten just how much I loved that sampler originally too..:) I had these 3 hooked up together a couple of nights ago,the 808's running into the 404 with the lovely vinyl sim and crunch from the 303 on the drums.
  19. That was possibly the best DV battle ever Dirk!.. certainly my fave that I participated in. It's funny cause I was listening to that battle just a couple of days ago..there were some brilliant entries and those tracks still sound really dope. @OKJoy every beat maker needs to flip Nautilus at least once hehe ..was it 9th Wonder who said that ? He was absolutely correct of course!
  20. Sharp GF 777. I mean, just look at it ..look some more. Then look away when you see how much these beautiful things actually sell for nowadays hehehe.
  21. It'll certainly be cheaper to get a card reader than a new sampler @Mutis Mayfield, plus it'll transform the 808 into one hell of a machine in the SP series that can do so much more that way without having to rely on the Zip Drive. But there's no crazy rush to install at the moment as alongside the 808 I have an Akai S900 & 950, MPC 2000, SP 303,SP 404,SP 404 SX and an Ensoniq EPS sampling synth at my disposal right now,Alec's and myself have combined all our equipment into one studio set up,plus there's also a Mac that's running Ableton. It's definitely something I'll do at some point in the future though for sure.
  22. Cheers dude! ..have some new music almost ready to release, been a while as I've had a load of family related stuff going on lately. I sourced a working 250 mb zip drive and a mate who's pretty handy with electronics helped to get the sampler up and running again . Next upgrade will be a compact flash card reader to replace the zip drive on the SP- 808 ..it's a beast of a machine plus adding a cf reader will enable the cards to be swapped between the SP 404 .
  23. Back to life.. . Back to reality.. .:)
