  1. kinda obvious but Z-Trip's B-Boy Breaks Vol. 3 is nice. I have a Q-Unique (formerly Arsonists) mix as well which is cool but the mixing is not all that. Sound quality ain't the best either. Also DJ Rhettmatic's "The Wedding Mixer" is dope.
  2. two friends of mine actually have managed to kill their crossfaders. Don't ask me how they did it.
  3. last pick ups were Bush Babees-We run things 12" Passport-Cross Collateral LP James Brown-It's a mother LP James Brown-The Popcorn LP Jimmy "Guitar" Watson-Ain't that a bitch LP and a slab of Funk 7"es from Breakestra and Now Again Rec.
  4. OK, here's an old freestyle from the rapper I was writing about earlier. It'd be no problem to have him spit a few lines. He lives in my area. http://s38.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0913KUDZJIKU80937BBM11FQBE
  5. when I was DJin for freestyle battles, these were some good beats too: Nas-Made you look Dilated-Work the Angles Biggie-Unbelievable Gang Starr-Mass Appeal Noreaga-N.O.R.E. Jeru-Ya playin yaself dunno if some of these are too rugged for the average nigga but people got hyped to spit on these beats. and if one MC gets on your nerves, just play "Alphabet Aerobics" by Blackalicious, always worked well for me
  6. Audio clips of all tracks I was hoping he would come up with something better really. Undoubtedly the days of Boxcar sessions are over but the last two albums at least had a few dope tracks. Somebody should give this dude some dope beats. He doesn't deserve this.
  7. I had a go on the 360, it's definitely a dope mixer. I went with the Rane TTM 56 after all which to me is still the best mixer around. The Xone 02 is definitely overlooked but it doesn't really have anything that makes it outstanding like contactless faders or stuff like that. It's just a solid mixer, I guess.
  8. yeah, that'd be cool. I also know a good rapper from around here. He's american and sounds pretty similar to Big L. He's not on this board tho. If need be, he can spit some lines too. Whatever, let's get the line-up down first.
  9. I like all the beats too but I think flipflop's one is the most suitable. However, I don't even know if I qualify to cut on this, so what do I know...
  10. I'd be down for some cuts if you got a spot left.

    Sample ID

yeah, it him. I think it's from the track "Step to me" with KRS, not sure tho.
  14. There's Gag-Seal and Cop Porn Breaks. The scratch sides are wack if you ask me. Superseal got the "best" selection of samples. You pretty much have all the important sounds on there for practising. Who needs another one?
  15. they prolly came to the conclusion that another skipless scratch record might not be all that.

    ISO Files

probably. I use Winrar 3.51 and the .iso files look like this:

    ISO Files

well, you got .iso files on your hard drive now. if you have a current version of winrar it will treat the .iso files as if it were an archive like .rar .zip etc. so there's no need to burn the .iso on a CD to get to the files.

    ISO Files

winrar handles that as well, at least the newer versions do. 3.51 recognizes .iso files as archives.
  19. I can imagine they'd be fun for a B-Boy battle, you know, doubling up the breaks then go to the next and so forth, which is what they were made it for in the first place.
  20. The Roots "Clones" off the Illadelph Halflife album. It's also on the b-side of the "Section" single.
  21. good lookin out dood, feelin the beats for sure
  22. I'd ask DJ shops if they have some 1200 boxes from display models or something that they don't need (unlikely tho). I've always used two sturdy cardboard boxes, similiar to the original packaging, and lots of bubble pads. Just make sure the turntable is protected from all sides coz freight forwarders are usually kinda rude towards parcels from time to time. I would put the turntable with the bubble pads in one box and then put that box in a bigger one. Has always worked for me so far. I guess you can get boxes from a supermarket as they usually have an abundance of boxes they'd throw away anyway.
  23. entire Smut Peddlers album most of Kool Keith's recent outings Big Daddy Kane-The Day You're Mine on the ultimate cheese tip: Big Daddy Kane-The Lover In You seriously: Rakim-Mahogany Guru-When You're Near Pharcyde-She Said there's not many love songs in Hip Hop anyway. As for smoother stuff, go for Slum Village, Guru's Jazzmatazz, Pharcyde and the like.
  24. it's simple. take your packaging tape and cut out a small strip. Make sure you cut as straight as possible. Then just tape it inside the fader where the black carbon/plastic strips are. it has to be a straight line. You will get some popping tho and run the risk of killing those little brushes inside the fader when they catch on the tape in the course of time.
