  1. Man I can't believ no one mentioned PERCEE P on here. Check out the older collabs with Big Daddy Kane, Lord Finesse (also one of my fav lyricists) and the more recent Lung Collapsing Lyrics pt. II with Soul Purpose. The man's got an lp coming up as well, first single should be out by now. Also MF ofcourse, Kool Keith and Immortal Technique.
  2. This looks even nicer: list Use FlashGot to get them all in one go
  3. Fiddy cent, ja rule, those awful ying yang twins (wtf were they thinking?). Also Game is being overrated. He's got a cool style of voice but lacks technicality. Saying Uhh at the end of every bar doesn't make it a rhyme. Might as well just go: poptarts uhh, cornflakes uhh, my tire's flat uhh, the weather's nice uhh, in da cluhh uhh
  4. I've always had Sennheiser HD202 (or similar). They usually break after a year or so, but considering the price that's not much of a problem. If you're looking for studio headphones AKG are the best buy, but you'll need to spend over 300 €
  5. I have the Line6 pedal and think it's butter. There's no 'undo' funtion though, so ya'd better not miss
  6. True, if you want to record DECENT, get an MD
  7. Best song from that UNKLE album IMO Tnx
  8. Prolly because of Dee and me. We're B&W fundamentalists
  9. N4ut1l1 pwn yr spe4kers u n00b !!! 1oNe1 !!!
  10. I think it was +-16%, there are no limits if you replace the pot however. Except for maybe the temperature of your motor...
  11. The very last one on shampoo deluxe before the farts and the bassline - crash-oooooohhh-it's-just-ho-fresh-aaahhh
  12. yep, checked out some more and the Clavia it's gonna be. best analogue emulation I've ever heard.
  13. With the curve and HF filters set to 0, they're perfect monitors, no coloring of the sound whatsoever. When you alter the sound with the two switches they're also good for plain listening to records. One sounds like shit, as I still need to glue (well, silicone, glue would be a mistake) the bass cone which has come loose from the sides. For the rest they're typically B&W, nice warm lows (without cranking up sub-bass like in Bose systems), easy to distinguish all instruments in the mix, and ofcourse sorta silent when compared to other speakers as they use a rather flat curve. The lows on these babies would really blow ya out of the frame, even better than on the newer versions I'd say. A perfect non-clipping (so non-localisable) low down to 20 hz. They were a beeetch to carry up the stairs though: 40 kgs each... And tekniqs: Kevlar has really proved its quality as a cone material over the last 30 years (DM6's were the first to use them btw), durable like a tank yet flexible enough to render all frequencies. The woofer is the classic polymer as used in B&W's ASW series.
  14. Anyone here with a lot of experience with synths? I'm looking for something versatile YET easy to program YET good sounding I'm looking for people who have experience with the E-mu Mo'Phatt or Proteus series.. So far I've tried the E-mu Vintage Pro (nice but needs expansion ROM's), Oberheim OB-12 (a bitch to program but good sounding) and Clavia Nord Lead 2R (my favorite for the moment). Any other options?
  15. So I was at an old lady's house to install her tv, pc & stuff, and I see these 2 beautifully preserved B&W DM6's standing there. I tell her that's a nice pair of speakers you got there. She asks me if I can do anything with them. I inquire what she's asking for them and she replies: "You can take 'em if you take the other junk as well.' The other junk being a Pioneer amp, receiver, cd-deck, turntable, and tape deck!!! So I've got a whole batch of high-end stuff FA SHIZZLE! Best thing is the DM6 was one of B&W's first speakers to use Kevlar coni, so it's practically unwearable. Only damage is cosmetic. Prolly best deal ever That's them: Just wanted to share the joy, you can carry on now

    My shit

I was gonna say sketches but that term's got some negative connotation

    My shit

You mean left?! No that's me on the left (with the fish) Yep, tracks can get very repetitive, but as I said, these are "work in progress" tracks directly recorded from the MPC's stereo outs and not from my 8 outs. Also i usually add some samples like movie dialogues & such, and before anything gets recorded for real I'll add some variation to the drums. Though I tend to get real bored while finishing and finetuning stuff so it may never happen

    My shit

I started with Reason, but about 2 years ago I've upgraded to an MPC2000XL. Except for maybe taller samples like acapellas or movie dialogues it's all I use. Thx for the feedback folks! Oh and that's not my pic on the right
  19. Phology asked me in the 'Introduce yourself'-thread, so here's a beat I made. Note that it's not finished yet (needs some drum fills) and that this is recorded at home through stereo outputs, so there's no eq'ing done and no fx applied. Still you should get the basic idea from this one. The beat's name is 'Focus', the rest on that page is some old shit from when i was still mastering my empee. here it's at
  20. I'm selling a Microtech PCD-47B Internal SCSI cardreader which can be used for any sampler/synth with internal SCSI connections. Slots for PC card, SmartMedia and CompactFlash. I bought it for my MPC2000XL but cant use it because it has the wrong firmware version and I can't upgrade to the new one, having no SCSI gear in my current pc. The firmware update utility can be downloaded from midicase.com, I can help you with the installation if necessary. It's a great thing to have in your MPC to replace that old vulnerable ZIP drive and especially having internal storage, so that's 2 cables and a device less to lug around. I'm asking €20, SCSI cable included.
  21. Yep that's a prob here too, the combined user lists. Still wouldn't trade it in for msn messenger though. Anyone know any other alternatives?
  22. sup, I have this problem since I installed the black skin for xp: before the message windows flashed in the task bar for incoming messages, now they don't. Anyone else had this problem and solved it somehow?
