Hey guys, so in preparation of my Raiden Fader I also purchased a Numark PT 01. I wanted a Handytrax but didn't feel it was worth spending so much more for a little bit better portable turntable. Anyway, I prepped it yesterday. Removing that felt pad and the double sided tape that was holding it, that was real bitch to remove but I got it all off. I even cut up one of my extra butter rugs and frosted plates to fit as well. I wanted to buy the Thudrumble Shortrugs combo but as most of you know it's not in stock at the moment. I Christened it with some cuts connected to my bedroom PMC05 and it did a really good job at tracking. Just found it slightly jumpy using the baby seal picture disc when using samples that were close (jumping one groove to the other) but I felt it was more of a heavy hand thing or the baby seal is just dirty. So now onto the battery life. I noticed it took 6 D batteries. I haven't put any in because who the hell has D batteries laying around? When looking up on google I found one post where someone said they got about 40hours on it and still going. I'll probably grab a bunch from work and when I do get my Raiden Fader I'll def. test it out on the road. That being said, have any of you guys had any experience using this portable and how much power does it suck up? I'm looking to possibly get some good rechargeable D batts like the Eneloops or something similar so I don't have to keep on stealing from work Found these large capacity Tenergy (10,000mAH NiMH) on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Tenergy-000mAh-Capacity-Rechargeable-Batteries/dp/B001AYIRH8 But $60 seems a bit much. Thoughts?

A DJ Debut? Not really. Birthday parties were usually the excuse for the cool high school student to throw parties and have a DJ. DJs came in groups. Like an entourage. Probably 3 members were good and would take turns with predetermined line up. Back then, it seemed like showing skills was more important than song selection. At least that's how I viewed it. When my son was in high school a few years ago, he attended house parties. I asked if there were DJs. He said no. Totally different from what I experienced. That's sick. Yeah I'm sure now a days it's fueled by trap music, drugs and pekpek.

That's how we do! lol... Filipino-Canadian here and some of the best DMC champs from Canada are Filipino, Dopey, D-Scratch, Lil Jaz... But yeah the West Coast birthed some Legends. And no, were all not related.

Lol Vekked.... read your comment to the aussie getting butt hurt because you're too good. And I'm surprised this second submission actually won. I remember you talking about when you started entering comps and losing. You went back to the lab and practiced. What was it like 3-4years til you finally entered again? DMConline is so wack. I really hope these guys step back and realize that they need to practice a lot more.

So my homies and I put our orders in for the Raiden Fader and I have a Numark PT01 shipping in soon as well. Yeah we bought into the hype. That being said any suggestions for 7" scratch records. I currently have a 7" baby seal picture disc (seems like a bootleg) and will be picking up a couple from Suckertash the Wax hauler here in Toronto. Just for the Scratch Game & Just for your Hand 2. Are there any other 7" that I should have in my arsenal?

Just dropped some coin on the Raiden fader yesterday. Put my order in for a Numark PT01 as well. The Handytrax price just skyrocketed because, Vestax. Still feel it's all hype right now. Telling my boy I'd be down to post up at a subway station or a heavy traffic area to cut and make some change!

Have any of you guys bought and used the bootleg/generic N447 Stylus? With an average price of 8-12$ for a single one it's pretty appealing. These ones aren't available right now.

So round 4 has started.... Round 3 was meh but was surprised who the judges picked, BeatMolester.... I think he's entered every round for the past two comps. Anyway, I'm going through Round 4 and this caught my attention. Notice the use of visuals and multiple camera angles as well as OMG Lazersssss *pew pew pew.... the comment section of the video is pretty funny too..... Thoughts?

yeah my IG feed was going off with peeps scratching to this looper.... Haven't had the chance to cut on it yet... life man....life.

I'm just wondering if it's possible to use HTML5 for loopers instead of flash. I'm no programmer but find flash and all the plug-in updates to be annoying. And I've read articles about how flash should just be phased out due to its security issues. Is there something holding back you looper producers from using HTML5 instead of flash?

Picked this up from a local supplier here in Toronto. Had a 10 min go at them yesterday. Love the quality. Just annoyed that my 12's don't do ultrapitch. Looks like i'll have to bring my PDX down to the basement.

Instead of the SL2, why not wait a few weeks, the Denon DS1 is coming out soon. MSRP $299 for a SeratoDJ enabled soundcard. I'm waiting on this myself, still using an SL1 and SSL

Round 2 is out.... anyone peep any videos yet? Been through half of them, A lot better than round 1 so far. Rasp and DJ Select threw down some good routines.

Since DMC doesn't really screen the entries I thought what Jimmy did was perfect. Pretty much like free advertising. I don't see what's stopping any DJ companies to have entrants use their gear along with perfectly planned video shots of their gear in action. Forget the comp. just expose the flaws in their system and get some free advertising to a bunch of DJ's.
