  1. I was a tape dubbing man aswell. Can't even remember the first tape I had, probably jive bunny or some horrible shit. First record I bought was hiphop drunkies by the alkaholics when I got my first set of decks. Soundlab belt drives rock.
  2. Yeah this is nice. Props.
  3. Yep scenario remix is one of my favourites ever too. I think pete rock and cl smooth 'the creator' remix would be in there somewhere if it was up to me, I love that track.
  4. That freestyle was pretty good, the beeps were nice. What record was he using there?
  5. plusnet is good, i get about 250 max download speed, they have good customer support too. I think my connection gets upgraded to 8mb soon. big tings.
  6. http://s44.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=3EJX5JIGJOGAO0JBXVDO5CGFV made a loop to scratch over the other day. check it out and see what you think.
  7. My favourite uk rapper is cappo, cappo is the truth. Taskforce bore me to tears these days.

    Digging Tips?

Look for 70s music of all genres, especially the stuff with nice thick basslines. there is a world of samples out there to find. fuck that 30s jazz shit. charity shops are generally wack unless you like to sample simon and garfunkel or mantovani. look in second hand record shops and try and blag your way into the stock basement, thats where the good stuff is.
  10. I thought Be Easy was weak. I heard another track off there though and that was h33t, it was one of the doom ones I think.
  11. Trigger finger all the way. It has more sliders and knobs that are freely assignable, and the mpd pads are supposed to be quite stiff. Trigger finger ones are ok but they are still stiffer than an mpc. Ableton live is a good sequencer to use with it.
  12. m audio 2496. 60 quid, does the job.
  13. what you need to do is download bomes midi translator or something similar which basically allows you to set a number of keystroke commands to one midi command from your controller. then you have to set the keymap in ableton, use one command to record and play all the top line of cells and use 8 different commands to arm 8 different tracks, then you have an 8 track looper. you cant overdub record onto a track tho, if you want to do an overdub you need to just go onto the next track. not explained very well, but thats more or less how i have it set up and it works.
  14. iv got an m audio 24/96, it does the job for now. That motu looks canny.
  15. I havent got any sort of shit like that, my hands are smooth as barry white.
  16. Yeah that looks a little nasty, but the features sound class.
  17. I dunno if they still do them but Alpha Omega used to do reissues of classic breaks. One track on each side, nice quality. There was a few diff runs i think. Have a look for some of those aswell.
  18. How do you use ableton live as a looper? i cant get my head around it. That mobius looper someone posted up here is pretty good, 8 tracks unlimited over dubs, undo/redo and volume/panning on each track, reverse and a few other things. id like to have a go with ableton though so if anyone knows how to use it hit me up.
  19. Id go for pete crack rock and cl smooth. thats my shit.
  20. Its just a midi controller, you can tap your drums or whatever in with it, its better than drawing them in with the mouse.
