It's funny actually the guy I bought the 02 from actually had replaced it with the z2. I had a brief cut with it and it felt a bit weak but I'm not sure what he'd do e to it but it looked like it had been tied to the back of his car and dragged home lol it was battered. Almost put me off buying the 02 cos I was like does this guy not look after his gear then lol In the price range of the z2 I don't think there is any comparable mixer really. The 05 with midi is a scary choice for me as vestax are bust so no more warranty on new equipment. I've never used any Of the hak series but they would be similar in price although I may want dicers on top of that. I think they attraction of the z2 was having a semi affordable mixer with midi so I wouldn't have to carry the dicers. I'm not to fussed though as dicers ain't heavy or nothing just thinking about a streamlined setup. Dj tech have another version of their budget mixer with midi so thinking about that or the normal dif 1s with dicers If I found another 02 for a decent price id grab another one

Z2s are being sold at £459 right now so thinking about grabbing one. I recently got a xone 02 an fitted it with an inno pro and loved it. My 05 is knackered and I have been thinking about what to grab for a second set up for playing out an workshops. Was gonna grab a cheap dj tech dif 1s and another set of dicers but for a lil extra I'm now in the realm of a z2. I'm not really interested in using traiktor but I've seen some pretty cool mappings for serato on the z2 so I think I might grab one whilst they are on the cheap. They've been out for a lil while now how is the build quality of the mixer? I'll be using serato so not worried about traktor. Might even keep it at home and use the 02 when out n about.

I replaced some cheap an cheerful slips I had from like 97 a few months ago with some table clothes. Best thing I bet did they were pretty thin compared to the shit ones I had an thought it might impact on how well my needles held but nah man they spot on not too slippy just right Rip chemical records bristol! Bit of time has passed since I started this thread but today I picked up a xone 02 for 80 quid. The fader is starting to struggle an one of the eq faders has came loose but it sounds so much better than my 05. I am still lusting after a scratchbox but I really like this 02 even with the naff fader so I could be in love once I fit a pro x fade/innofader! Lool

Cheers for the input boys. I recently re soldered the inputs on my 05 but fucked the gain an mid pots so now they are permanently fixed lol don't ask! So for practicing on its fine. I was thinkin about gettin an innofader for sometime then the dj tech mixers showed up an I started thinkibg about a new mixer. I do workshops from time to time for kids so decided if I get another mixer the 05 can be used by the kids an when it does eventually die I'll replace it with one of the dj tech mixers or another 05/6 if a cheap one comes along. Either way I guess I need to have a play about with what ever I get as these mixers cost a fair bit to just buy without using first. Definately lookin to improve sound quality tho. Out of interest some people have complained about the rane faders on the 56s compared to the original 56 ones. You guys heard or experienced this?

For the last few months I've been thinkin about which mixer to get to replace my old mk2 05 that really is on it's last legs lol. I've been lookin at various opinions on forums an that regarding what is available now new. Was thinkin of buyin new as it would be good to get some form of warranty as a lot of the mixers I've been lookin at are not much newer than my 05 lol. As you can imagine at this point I'm lookin for something that is generally an upgrade. Lol don't really rule much out haha. I've been thinkin in 2014 is the 56 still the top dog. I mean other mixers have had a few years to develop a following now so is the 56 still there go to mixer? I've been lookin at the scratchbox cos it seems the only people that day it ain't the ultimate mixer are those that ain't used one. Never heard 1 complaint. But I also heard there was some difficulty in finding replacement faders. Then there is the rane. I've already got a sl2 box an a set of dicers so have got no intention of getting anything like the 61 or 62 which is why I was lookin at the 56. But has a 12+ year vestax owner will I be able to get along with te faders on the rane? Maybe,maybe not will have to have a go an see. But if I can't it's back to the drawing board lol. Of course there's the lastest 05 which looks pretty cool an many have commented on how nice the fader is bit to be honest whilst my vestax has lasted well it has always sounded pretty shitty compared to others. So I'm not sure about that. I know posts like these are really subjective but anyone else been in a similar boat? I like te idea of the scratchbox as it has control over the line faders which I don't think the 56 has. But I don't wanna cop one an end up struggling for parts. Ie replacement faders an the like.

When I was using a pc I had to transcode in order to play back an edit. You could try transcoding to something like an Avi with MPEG streamclip. If it works better then you know it's a case of the footage bein hard to process.

What format is your video in? Is it just the way u have to do things in movie maker that's long or is the computer takin long. If it is the second maybe you could transcode your footage to make it lighter on your system.

If I had brains I'd be dangerous lol. I think that would probs be the easiest way. Also if if a had a few different sources where I host my mixes ie dropbox an copy bitly would although the stats to be unified is one easy to find place. Lol jus read back my original post that's the last time I post before noon!

I have a fair bit of storage available between my dropbox, copy and mediafire accounts an was plannin on using one to host mixes with a download link on mixcloud. Mediafire offers download stats but I've heard a few people have ha mixes pulled although that could be dependant on what they play. So then I was lookin at copy an dropbox. But I was wonderin how I could track dl's. I could use bitly to shorten urls down an use it's tracking system. Is there a way of using a wordpress site to track downloads? This maybe a better option as I could have an archive of older mixes for new listeners. As you can probs tell I am not the best at the internet lol any help would be appreciated!

Oi Oi New user here play mainly hiphop and a bit of funk (mainly for poppin) currently in the middle of fixing my 05. Broke the gain and high pot when i was taking it apart to solder the input. Found this site looking at new mixers lol had the 05 for over 12 years now and trying to null the pot from underneath with the mixer in pieces is a ball ache lol
