  1. yeah you're right...i don't know why i didn't think that through first before typing... the MF Doom track is called " the mic is nice in here"
  2. I've had tables since late 98, but spent a lot of time in the beginning just on learning to mix/blend and make/program beats and that. After I finally saw "scratch" in may of 2003 I really turned my focus onto scratching- so about 14-15 months I guess. It wasn't until then either that I bought a mixer (numark SM-3)with a curve adjustable contact free fader- thereby no longer having to use the line/phono switch. I have the cut dialed all the way to the right so its sharpest for one with the left hand on the record and the right on the fader - non hamster style. I'll try to post something more basic real soon.
  3. wow...real nice dub. I gotta get gangsta breaks now...love those samples too! right on with the silent breaks and fades i gotta check out the rest of your stuff..... yeah, I'd love to hear a composed track too!! tight as hell dubs!! later ! peace.
  4. hey thanks for listening... Dee- it definitely needs a bass line- problem was I dumped the whole beat in as stereo track all ready sequenced in the mpc, so I'll have to redo the beat and take off the conga loop, then redump that into the protools session..and i didn't sync to anything-lesson learned though. I'm gonna work on it anyway and update the file when its less chaotic. Sigma, I post a link the server its on as soon as I get it uploaded. now for some amatuer scratching practice on MF Doom instrumental peace.
  5. yeah- nice cuts for sure- I like how you land on a phrase and then repeat it like 3 or 4 times...thats dope!
  6. huwbeanie...I thought it was a mp3...thats what I uploaded to soundclick? but either way...after I mess with it some more ...I'll put it on my site as an mp3 also so you can check it out. thanks for the feedback gabe...i'm gonna mess around with that track a little more, and follow those suggestions too. I'm gonna redo the beat by chopping up the timbale sample more so its not just one convoluted loop...I'll let you know when I repost it.Peace!
  7. inspired by Deeswift's tracks posted in "what other instruments do you play" thread. I wanted to see what I could record/produce in an afternoon. Didn't get very far. Give it a listen... let me know what you think. thanks here
  8. i haven't thoroughly checked out your site and all the tracks but this one sounds good...cool little beat. I think if you had a horn player laying some live jazzy lines over that it would sound dope too! nice work!
  9. i play a little guitar....mostly electric...heavily blues influenced. I can tinker on the keys and with congas.... turntables and beatmaking, and some recording and production. i read music at an astonishing pace...like 3 notes per minute. oh yeah..I forgot that little wind instrument I always got my lips to...when I'm getting musical....ah...the packed, glass pipe (its kinda like a one holed recorder-hamster style).
  10. must not have been to dv1 enough...there so much info here I can't get any work done...I just keep reading... definitely walking along the "ledge of know" in this place. Nice work fellas!
  11. we should see that jgirl and tyra make it over here.... always nice to have some females in the house :49_49:
  12. the skin color selector option is nice....like the black and white and the blue. and the user friendly format changes...like the reverse order on the comments... Hats off to the DV crew. and now for the smart ass remark.... "Now we have a "next -level" board to post our "next level" scratch audio." :74_74: lol
  13. 1.)yes, but only about a dozen times, I was fairly new there too. 2.)I use an mpc2000 and combine sounds and loops made from fruityloops or reason too. I can sample obscure vinyl or whatever instruments I have at hand. I record into pro-tools (digi001) and do all the mixing, post production -if any with the pro-tools.
  14. hey...how's everyone...? just checking in to DV2...
